The selling is not completely unjustified. The revenue growth rate has slowed down quite significantly compared to a year ago. There were also no signs of operating leverage over the period (which surprises me) since profit growth was not ahead of revenue growth, with Opex rising substantially YoY.

For a company trading on 35-40x EPS the combination of slowing sales growth and a lack of operating leverage coming through is an issue.

That said, Keystone is a quality company and I imagine the lack of operating leverage was more of an incident than a structural thing (in the past they did show evidence of operating leverage). Should have a long runway of growth ahead. Key is just that this growth is maintained at decent levels (>10% needed IMO) and operating leverage of perhaps 1.5x (translating into at least 15% profit growth)

By the way , I believe that the report making allegations against the way in which Burford Capital updates the value of the legal cases which it finds as they progress towards completion was made by an organisation called Muddy Waters . If you read the RNS issued yesterday morning on the website of Burford Capital , you will see how vehemently Burford reject such allegations and promuse to do all in their very considerable power to defeat such claims .

Gconvery . I’m sure you’re right that the reason for the fall here is due to events at Burford Capital , even though it operates in a totally different area of law ( there has been a report claiming that the way in which Burford updates the value of the legal cases which it funds as they progress is over optimistic , something which Burford categorically denied yesterday in an RNS which promised to do all they could to find the
Perpetrators and to prosecute them ) . The slump in Burford shares yesterday spilled over to the shares of its much smaller competitor and comparator company Litigation Capital Management ( both companies specialise in litigation funding ) , even though no allegations whatsoever have been made against LCM , and LCM updates the value of the legal cases on its books in a totally different manner . My PERSONAL impression is therefore that the fall in Keystone Law’s shares is totally unwarranted , but DO YOUR IWN RESEARCH .

Yes the results do look good. Do you not understand the market though there is no logic. I sold some of these on Monday but still have my holding since flotation.

With only one day's trading now until the RNS next Wednesday , the shares continue to rise ( up 1.8% ( 9p ) today to £ 5.00 / £ 5.18 ) . This in spite of today's RNS stating that Merian have reduced their holding from 5.8% to less than 5% . Also the comment in today's Investors' Chronicle , although stating the obvious , could be construed slightly negatively : " Investors will be looking for signs that Keystone's proprietary platform model is still successfully drawing in lawyer recruits " . So often shares wilt in the last few days before the release of figures , so let's hope that this rise continues next Tuesday and that it is the harbinger of good annual figures on Wednesday .
