Very strange share price movements (or is it non movements) in the last 24hours. May have to wait until tomorrow to get a clearer picture.

life of crime - Kentz may start being the aggressor snapping up companies, rather than be picked off. I suspect it is good news for shareholders either way so long as they take care in their choice of acquisition.

You were right bones and the market has disregarded this excellent contract news because of the disappointment that no bid emerged. I still expect Kentz to be approached at some point and I cannot see anything under £10 being considered by the BoD.

Yesterday's closing price was a false one anyway as was discussed here last night. Just weird auction mechanics. It traded at 755 at the close and is down 15 now, that's how I view it. It's been on a nice run so let it consolidate a while :)

Definitely not.A takeover by an industry peer simply confirms that the company has oodles of potential on which that predator wants to capitalise.

It should go up but the market got wind of it and I guess it's discounted.It's nice to have RNSs well flagged by sharp price movemnents ahead of their release.

The market's looking for (expecting) a takeover approach so this new contract counter-intuitively appears negative and decreases such a possibility though I believe a takeover will happen eventually

I know Kenz rose strongly yesterday, but it seems weird to be down 5% after announcing a $640m dollar contract.
Maybe there was some news leaked of a big RNS that wasn't as exciting (i.e. takeover) as hoped?

There was talk in November about M+W still being interested, after withdrawing before AMEC in the summer.

This smells like a bid is in the wings rather than a contract win and I can't see less than a tenner being entertained by the Board, as they have gone from strength to strength since AMEC walked and of course the US acquisition has added a lot of value.

£10 would get my vote.

Can't see AMEC coming back to the table before 16th? of next month Re: Takeover Panel 6 months put up or shut up, all be it coming up soon enough.
I'm thinking contract win now.
Top sliced myself last Wednesday with 2.5K @704p but still up a cool £1700 this afternoon.

Big volume,well above normal.I don't want this company taken over.I'd prefer it,if it just quietly doubled every three years or so.A tenner a share might succeed I suppose presuming it's agreed....or eleven or...twelve...

At 4:20pm i top sliced my holding at 752p...last time i held KENZ i sold all my holding 3days before the bid offer was announced...lets hope we have some great news tomorrow morning

I really am not meaning to ramp, just chatter, but 6.7% in the last few hours? On no news? Come on, something's going on behind the scenes, it's just to big of a rise in such a short time to be classed in the normal trading range, I did expect to see an RNS after close, but no show, maybe before open? Probable scenario is Kentz comment on share price movement either way pre open. It's interesting stuff anyway.
