24/9/2021 11:31 | “After ensuring that they have provisions that make Corporate Social Responsibility mandatory and adding some inputs, the council agreed for the agreements to be signed and come into effect.” Suggests that some minor bits were added but the bulk everyone was already happy with probably a case of a bit of grandstanding and backslapping then waved through. | robjm66
24/9/2021 11:11 | Rob I think that Kefi has all of the government approvals necessary including the Ministry approvals and that of the central bank. There's nothing draft about Kefi's development plan. | estseon
24/9/2021 09:53 | That's the positive I am taking from this, if others are pouring the cash into Ethiopia mining sector despite the instability then funding for Kefi should be on its way | mustafa15a
24/9/2021 09:45 | Thanks for the information, Rob and let’s hope it’s related to Kefi. Keep up the good work, you are certainly worth your weight in GOLD! | gibrewog
24/9/2021 09:31 | Thanks topical. | robjm66
24/9/2021 09:27 | That ok Matthew we would not want too much excitement here ;-) | robjm66
24/9/2021 09:09 | Like I say - sincerely hope this does refer to us, but for my own mental well-being I don't allow myself to get too excited about anything with Kefi nowadays until it's been rubber-stamped and confirmed in an RNS! I should also say thanks for the research, though, Rob. | matthew stone
24/9/2021 08:32 | Well says approved in “draft” company kind of being giving out that Ethiopians are happy in principle anyway or could be holding back news to a Monday. Have not come across statements from the other mining companies except maybe akobo. | robjm66
24/9/2021 08:21 | I'd love to be proven wrong, but let's be honest here - if our's was one of deals approved we'd have had the RNS at 7:00 this morning. | matthew stone
24/9/2021 08:16 | Irrespective of anything else guess it’s a good sign that big mining deals are going ahead in Ethiopia. | robjm66
24/9/2021 02:08 | Cheers Rob, our chances should be good that Kefi would be one of those 4 gold miners | donegal1997
23/9/2021 23:43 | Looks connected to previous post 15881 hxxps://ethiopianmon ADDIS ABABA – The Council of Ministers has approved seven major mining development agreements that could generate 4.7 billion US dollars revenue to Ethiopia, according to the Office of Prime Minister. The draft deals, presented by the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, received the approval during PM Abiy Ahmed’s cabinet 100th meeting on Thursday. The documents have initially been evaluated by a Committee of Legal, Technical and economic experts set up by the ministry before submission to the council, says the Office in a statement. The evaluation involved feasibility of the investments, importance to the country’s economic development, the mining companies the initial capital as well as their credibility, it says. Implementing the investments will generate over 4.7 billion US Dollars and create more than 1, 300 jobs, says the statement without delving into the specifics. After ensuring that they have provisions that make Corporate Social Responsibility mandatory and adding some inputs, the council agreed for the agreements to be signed and come into effect. Maybe we could have some comment in the Kefi Q and A section about this before any details pop up in a Ethiopian newspaper? Assume Akobo is one of the miners but it would be nice to know who the others are especially the other gold miners? | robjm66

23/9/2021 10:23 | went to see Stevie Wonder many years ago - people kept coming up to the bloke sitting in front of me for his autograph - turned out to be Edwin Starr :) | tintin27
23/9/2021 09:43 | I'd suggest Harry grabs his guitar and eye-shadow before heading to Addis Ababa to perform Culture Club's seminal hit: War, war is stupid and people are stupid And love means nothing in some strange quarters War, war is stupid and people are stupid And I heard them banging on hearts and fingers War People fill the world with narrow confidence Like a child at birth, a man with no defence What's mine's my own, I won't give it to you No matter what you say, no matter what you do Now we're fighting in our hearts Fighting in the streets Won't somebody help me? | jaylett
22/9/2021 14:01 | Until then, lol, you never know. But effectively from a neutral view point, one way or another, company defining news would appear to be days away, if security concerns were the cause of the delays. As such answers to the question aren't something that can be kept from the market. A few days to keep that shovel safe | rich1e
22/9/2021 13:44 | Hope that shovel will stay safe until then!! | digger2779
22/9/2021 12:28 | He said September for security check, key is that he said that the consortium all meet on 1st week of October. | donegal1997
22/9/2021 11:48 | When's the security review, I've seen mentioned? I would think that the outcome of that will see a strong move in either direction. 1p or 2p could be on the cards in the blink of an eye. A million traded, everyone seems reasonably relaxed. | rich1e
22/9/2021 10:39 | It really is | fairvalue |
