14/1/2022 17:42 | ifood, which management believe is worth in excess of £2bn, is the market leader in brazil. a cash offer was made at £2bn, so that's not pie in the sky. that leaves everything else at £6.5bn. grubhub alone was bought for £5.5bn, plus you've got just eat and takeaway.com. the stock has been excessively discounted, and there is no way that this company would be selling at £8.5bn in a private sale. | m_kerr
14/1/2022 08:51 | Grubhub to be spun off by the sounds of it or even sold .. IFood too Expect some pretty hefty payday cheques for investors in 2022! | topazfrenzy

07/1/2022 19:38 | topaz, i agree. i think deliveroo and uber eats will suffer greatly, and may be rendered worthless, if the legal framework surrounding the 'gig economy' shifts their 'contractors' to being full employees. it's a very vulnerable position to be in. the tightening labour supply will lead to people demanding more. more security, higher fees. the inevitable consequence of the above would be greatly increased fees, and worse service, due to needing to maximise efficiency (the amount of time a driver is on the job). currently they are reliant on flooding the market with drivers, so that the excess supply works in their favour a) pricing being cheap and b) people waiting around means quick delivery. fine when they aren't paying them to wait around, not so when they are paying them. | m_kerr

06/1/2022 12:45 | "As Europe's largest food delivery platform, Just Eat Takeaway.com welcomes and fully supports the EU Commission's proposals to improve conditions for workers and help them access social protections. Our company already employs tens of thousands of couriers across the EU, which proves that providing flexibility doesn't have to come at the expense of workers' rights. We hope that the Commission’s proposal will create clarity and a level playing field that ensures that companies across Europe are held to the same standards, so that all platform workers are treated with the dignity they deserve." 06/1/2022 12:17 | Added another 150 shares, share price is just silly cheap now, the shorters are going to town with this one, the swings are wild so the upside will be too imo GLA | topazfrenzy
23/12/2021 10:42 | 2 grocery delivery tie ups recently accounted with asda and one stop (owned by tesco). seems like a good deal for asda and one stop, who get to drive incremental sales with no risk or capital invested. there can't be much in it for Just Eat given the already thin margins in the sector. looks they are trying to stop getir from having the instant grocery delivery market to themselves. getir are now supposedly valued at $7.5bn by the way. there are some crazy valuations being bandied about in this sector. | m_kerr
22/12/2021 14:21 | delivery hero have thrown in the towel in germany. big win for JET. | m_kerr
