Posted at 18/5/2017 07:08 by 18bt I don't think it's a falling out. They are the private equity directors and leaving the Board means that they will no longer be recipients of inside information leaving the PE houses to sell down their stake (or sell to a buyer) at any point. It's odd that they don't comment on whether the investor agreement with the firms has been terminated. That would be a good question for someone to ask at the AGM.The TU is good on a number of fronts: - shows the recovery in the GIFL (annuity) market - they are delivering on their promises on DB de-risking - and possibly the most significant: "Our profit focus should deliver IFRS new business margins in excess of the mid 6% range" So if that all continues, it should lead to profit upgrades in due course. I view equity release mortgages as an investment asset not a product sale in its own right and they do appear to be raising the returns on that as well as the wafer-thin margins of H2 2016 rise. |

Posted at 03/5/2017 11:01 by scrapheap JRP should be worth more, says NumisRetirement specialist JRP Group (JRP), which was formed of the merger between Just Retirement and Partnership, should be worth more, according to Numis. Analyst Marcus Barnard retained his ‘buy’ recommendation and target price of 220p on the stock after full year results. The stock was trading flat at 124p at the time of writing. He said the results gave much clearer guidance on how the company aims to balance the mix between growing new business, maintaining the capital base and paying dividends to shareholders. ‘We believe the current share price discount to embedded value is difficult to justify and provides investors an attractive level to increase holdings,’ he said. ‘The business should be worth more now than it was a year or 18 months ago, reflecting the merger, the cost synergies achieved, the growth in assets under management, the higher margins achieved, the growth in the embedded value, and the growing earnings per share profile.’ |
Posted at 07/4/2017 09:24 by salpara111 With pe boys owning 39% of the business I struggle to see how they exit without negotiating a complete sale of the business. They cannot sell the 39% stake to a single investor as that would trigger a mandatory takeover offer.Placing 9% has driven the share price down dramatically so there is simply no possibility that they will be able to exit by selling down their stake into the market which leaves the possibility of a sale of the business. I don't know enough about them to really understand who might want them and more importantly what sort of price they might be willing to pay for them. |
Posted at 02/4/2017 09:37 by salpara111 the business is pretty sound but institutional investors will be focused on the huge overhang created by the two private equity owners. If it gets back to the 120 level I will take a stake as I don't think that they would be willing to sell at a discount to that price. |
Posted at 29/3/2017 10:08 by qs99 I liked the extra 20m from "strong investor demand" piece, despite any "flannel" that may be in that statement. Likewise the PE firms are now down significantly on shareholding, are they desperate sellers or willing to hold on for longer? We will find out once 90 day lock up is up, seems quite short which is a shame, but hopefully JRP will continue to deliver, so yield plus intrinsic value IMO DYOR over £2 and Numis £2.20 TP bodes well when you can today buy at £1.33....GLA.. |

Posted at 17/10/2016 17:20 by 18bt Note out from Shore Capital with a target price of 233p. As implied at the investor day it does looks as though they are currently seeking Tier 2 debt. Shoe's comment on this is; "we view the current debt road show (seeking sterling unrated 10 year Tier 2 paper) as an opportunity to enhance its balance sheet fire-power amidst significant growth opportunities in both the individual and bulk annuity markets, as opposed to any comparative weakness against its peers." |
Posted at 05/10/2016 14:17 by 18bt Amazing that no one has commented on the over 40% share price increase in under 3 weeks since the interims. For any holder, the capital markets day slides on the JRP investor website are well worth reading. The long term structural growth story is still intact, albeit significantly rebased from what was apparetn before the 2013 budget. |
Posted at 15/4/2016 07:25 by 3rd eye Yep but look at the drop in share price, approx 16% since the deal went through. Im a trader rather than an investor so I dont want to be holding medium term here, anyway Ive sold out. Thanks for the help its been much appreciated.
