Why would Nike and Adidas want JJb to survive?

firstly SPD devalue their brands by selling stock too cheaply.

Also you have to remember The brands have many different lines that they like to sell.

Different shops can have different lines.

So only having SPD selling would obviously be detrimental too The big brands.

The talk of internet sales.

Don't forget recently Adidas said that they we're going to be cutting back on what they let people sell online, That is they are a looking to limit what is sold online via various outlets.

Its been said that fatty likes to leak bad news about things he wants to buy so as to drive the price down or scare off other suitors.

It turns out the HMRC news was a non news event in reality.

This is looking like the mkt are pricing something other than a pre pack iMO

Thats not to say this is not risky, its massively risky still.

Gl all holders.

That's a very unusual stake, don't you think. I would have thought that philanthropist's are usually more risk averse, safeguarding their cash (however small) so that they can continue supporting good causes.

Pre-pack is described as controversial and not everyone agrees with that as a good solution. There are too many losers in a pre-pack for my liking. I wonder if they have a major objection to the pre-pack approach, the impact on jobs and, perhaps, they are attempting to build a stake to influence the way forward.

Either that or they know someone close to the deal.
