HEADLINE: Appointment of New Director

The Board of Invesco Perpetual Select Trust plc (`the Company') is pleased to
announce the appointment of Mr Alan Clifton as a Non-Executive Director of the
Company with effect from 10 January 2008.

Having spent 16 years as a Partner of Kitcat & Aitken followed by 10 years as
Managing Director of Morley Fund Management (previously Commercial Union
Investment Management) up until December 2000, Alan is now Chairman of the
Strategic Investment Board at the Ministry of Justice and an independent
director of several listed investment companies:

Schroder UK Growth Fund plc

International Biotechnology Trust plc

JPMorgan Fleming Japanese Smaller Companies Investment Trust plc

Principal Capital Investment Trust plc

Macau Property Opportunities Fund plc

Within the last five years, Alan has also acted as an independent director of
three other listed investment companies:

Henderson European Micro Trust plc (resigned 26/10/2004)

Gartmore Balanced Assets Trust plc (resigned 1/11/2004)

Britannic UK Income Trust plc (resigned 11/08/2006)

Alan is a Member of the Association for Investment Management and Research and
the Royal Economic Society; a Fellow of The Securities Institute and an
Honorary Fellow of Cancer Research UK.

Alan does not currently hold any shares in the Company issued share capital.

No information is to be disclosed in respect of paragraphs 9.6.13(2) to 9.6.13
(6) of the Financial Services Authority's Listing Rules.
