12/5/2020 18:15 | Phew here as well! I had some of the 6.125% so relieved they redeemed them. One could always buy the 7.75% (IPF2) if one's feeling brave & reckon they'll be around to redeem them. Currently £67.20 to buy with an effective running yield of 12.23%. Eastern Europe seems less affected by Covid but their customers aren't going to be isolated from the economic consequences there and elsewhere. | baoman1956

12/5/2020 12:18 | It wasn't smart thinking at all, I'm afraid. After the 2008/9 crisis, I lost a lot of income and needed to replace it so I bought a load of high yield corporate bonds (all below par in those days) maturing over a range of years in the short-medium term with the intention of holding to maturity. This is the last one to mature (I had some Enterprise Inns dated 2031 but they got redeemed at the recent takeover). I would never pay above par (yes, I know the maths of Redemption Yields but I can't bring myself to pay more than they're going to give me back!) and I haven't seen any new issues to tempt me for ages. | jeffian
12/5/2020 11:50 | You bought their bonds over their shares? Smart move I guess over recent time. What's your thinking now? | brucie5
12/5/2020 11:00 | "International Personal Finance plc (the "Company") confirms that its £44,098,100 6.125% bonds due May 2020 (XS0919406800) were repaid yesterday upon their maturity." Phew! (I had some) | jeffian
12/5/2020 10:29 | Does look oversold on the MAs with this morning's news, and NED's recent bold purchase. Peel Hunt also very bullish about its survival prospects. So I've taken a nibble, with initial target of 70p. That would on current view hardly even challenge to 50sma. | brucie5
