In the event SPEC manages to become profitable in the future, I wonder if it will acquire or found retail outlets for its products. If so, it would become fully vertically integrated, much like its competitor, Essilor Luxottica, worth over 50 billion euros.

Yesterday's early sellers must be feeling a bit sorry for themselves!

Good insightful post Philly - steady progress is exactly what I want to see as a holder.

Good assessment Philly. Moved it back to top of my portfolio.

Very good results given the concerns which management voiced about the market last year - to be fair management didn't overdo their concern but the market overdid its reaction. At £1 IMHO the shares represent good value for money and a return to £2 plus can only be a matter of time.

I actually think there is a good chance that this won't be back under £1 in the foreseeable and is more likely to re-rate back towards £2+.

Why?

Here are the last 8 quarters of top line revenues;

Q121 - $67.2m
Q221 - $58.5m
Q321 - $59.3m
Q421 - $61.5m

Q122 - $75.1m
Q222 - $63.3m
Q322 - $41m
Q422 - $69.2m

Q123 - >$75.1m

So every quarter in 2022 saw strong YoY growth bar the huge drop off in Q3 which coincided with French & German consumer confidence hitting 25 year lows. Confidence has picked up significantly since and hit 12 month highs yesterday;

hxxps://tradingeconomics.com/germany/consumer-confidence

2023 forecasts are for revenues of $252m, if the rest of 2023 matches 2021 performance (bearing in mind Q1 was 12% ahead) then annual revenues would come in at $281m.

Further, if they can maintain the improvement in gross margins (49.2% from 47%) then more gross profit will flow to the bottom line.

Net debt also stayed flat YoY which is a major positive given the challenges encountered.

All in all, very solid & you question how the 71% fall from 350p this time last year can be justified?

Good chance the share price will drop back over coming weeks. Will be looking to buy more of and when that happens . See what happens

I would describe as steady not spectacular. As a holder, stability is exactly what I want to see first established and maintained to then act as a solid platform for growth to capture the opportunities ahead.

Yes, I’d suggest that the results statement was very positive. Just got to get Norville profitable in essence.

I feel there is not a lot of stock with the MMs given the movements today on relatively small volumes.

Any sustained buying and this will fly again imo!

#SPEC results on 27 April, one of this years hxxp://scsw.co.Uk NAPs (at just 42p) that’s held onto all its gains in the market turbulence. The biggest spike occurred on a single day as had been anticipated in the jan issue and we could see another one as the high was 400p+

Interestingly enough it hasn’t had its full scsw write up after being a suprise nap either so that’s to come. Meves really well this

Just spotted the scsw tweet from yesterday . They’ve also spotted the formation and commented last time it had results it moved 50p intraday was literally almost 100% rise

Love little quirky companies like this. Spectacles ay. Well it wasn’t the plan but one of my biggest winners in 2023

Looks like 250p is possible this year . Also bet someone fancies buying this one . PE or something

Some decent buying volumes today, SPEC could blow upwards in the blink of an eye and test recent highs.

Still a long way to go back to 400p though as per this time last year.
