24/11/2008 12:46 | So do I Joe, sometimes I have to doublecheck that I'm not imagining things. When the tide goes out we can see who is not wearing bathing trunks. We also imo get a good look at the slimy things in the mud. Big fish swim deep so they will have disappeared. | broomsticks
24/11/2008 12:37 | Broomsticks - I see conspiracies everywhere! (doubly so on AIM- I have been following one director who has managed to drive three companiies into the ground and three others where they have taken the companies private at pi's expense!) | joestraughan
24/11/2008 12:34 | H101 - you have a point, but they could flush out most of the pi's at the moment with a very cheap price in this current market. The fact we have this 20-30% overhang of distressed shares, means potential for a few larger holders to take hold of this and then they have control. The fact that current directors aren't buying at these prices having previously said the price was cheap at a much higher price leads me to believe this is likely to happen. We also have a position where infonic shares are barely traded in the market now, so there seems little point in this being a quoted company, especially as they are trying to save on expenses. Put it this way, how much do you trust the word of our CEO? (good company but I think PI's aren't anywhere in their thinking). | joestraughan
24/11/2008 12:33 | Joe, As H101 says "anything's possible" but imo this company is not going to be taken private. It would imho be far better for Infonic to keep on providing the technology for what many believe is part of the Semantic Web that could eventually succede to Google. I am prepared to wait for this company to prove its potential and am definitely not selling my shares aimo, dyor | broomsticks
24/11/2008 12:13 | Ahh but directors have a duty to get the best for their shareholders. So buying up stock at a ridiculously low price and taking the company private might be regarded as a failing in their duty. I'm not sure about the rules but they need to get some sort of approval from the shareholders first. It looks like most of the shares might be in private shareholders hands anyway. So who is going to volunteer to sell their shares at a knock-down price? My price is 15p - a lot less than Thompson seems to think they are worth. Let's face it, if they are going to do it, they need to do it now, if the company is on the mend and moving into profit. As soon as this half's results are out and we find they are as promised then it will be difficult to get them at this price. If the company is going bust why the heck would they want to buy it and take it private? | h101
24/11/2008 11:42 | H101 - I wish I had your confidence! The trouble with Aim companies is that they can do what they want with relative impunity. And with a large proportion of ifnc's stock in limbo, it looks quite possible that a large percentage could be snapped up very cheaply, enabling someone to take it private? (I would certainly be considering it if I were a director and truly thought it had long-term significant value!). | joestraughan
24/11/2008 07:41 | Joe - anything's possible. However think about the price it would have to go at. Thompson has gone public boasting the company is worth much more than the present market cap. He would be prosecuted if he took it private at too low a price. So most shareholders would be looking at a considerable profit. | h101
21/11/2008 14:56 | No concrete offer made as yet but the word is that Lukoil is interested in a 29.9% stake in Repsol. Gazprom also taking an interest in Repsol. aimo | broomsticks
21/11/2008 13:53 | I see that Conoco have an interest in Lukoil - also reported today that Lukoil may take a larger interest in Spanish oil co. Repsol - the lukoil contract certainly has great possibilities. | joestraughan
20/11/2008 12:27 | New release: Infonic Receives Certificate of Networthiness from Army plus confirmation that DHL deploys Infonic's document manager software in NHS supply chain solution Published: 19 Nov 2008 and Wednesday, November 19, 2008 Infonic wins software order from Russia's LukOil | broomsticks
19/11/2008 19:24 | True, Joe, but I'm perplexed about two things with the most recent announcement(s): - Why haven't the directors bought more shares? (Especially Mark Thompson) Are they in a closed period? - Why aren't we licensing our patented compression technology? I can't help but feel annoyed about bullish comments from Mark Thompson saying that the current share price "means nothing" and not purchasing more shares. It adds to my worries that there is something "not quite right" at the management level. I don't have anything substantial other than the finance director leaving and dumping his shares, it's just a gut feeling. And also regarding the research notes saying that the company is worth 10p+. I believe the licensing issue has been discussed before? What were the arguments for and against? If it's patented, and it's the best, let's license it to as many ISVs as we can especially ISVs who similar collaboration software solutions. Apologies to sound a bit negative and the two contract announcements and subsequent share price is rise is excellent to see. I just hope it continues so that I don't have to write off another investment is a good company that was a victim of the credit crunch! | dreamsurfer141
19/11/2008 11:02 | Another good contract! Like waiting for a bus - nothing, then two at once - good news! I take back my previous cynical comments about them being neglectful of shareholders - nothing speaks louder than contracts! | joestraughan
19/11/2008 09:13 | A nice win. Could open a few more doors. | spaceparallax
19/11/2008 07:38 | This is what it says - thanks rathkum: Rumour of the day Infonic rose ¼p to 1.875p after winning a contract to supply is document management software to DHL to help it to handle NHS hospital and health authority trust documents. Another contract for its information software side with Lukoil, the Russian oil group, is said to be close. It would allow Lukoil engineers in the field to handle data. Thompson says about the Lukoil stuff "...senior executives will rely on our software to access and act on vital information..." Not much of a rumour given the two RNSs are out. | h101
18/11/2008 15:21 | No enthusiasm anywhere - not this year! | joestraughan
18/11/2008 15:18 | The announcement has not invigorated the market. 1 transaction--£2000. Still no enthusiasm here methinks. | rabbrooks
18/11/2008 12:06 | PS - just to add - I think previous contracts with DHL were with their Logistics Division and this DHL NHS Supply Chain Solution is new? If it is the case, then it would appear to be ground-breaking as they say! | joestraughan
18/11/2008 11:36 | We had contracts at other DHL sites previously - aren't the NHS sites a new addition - I don't remember NHS being mentioned before and the NHS is the UK's biggest employer! | joestraughan
18/11/2008 11:05 | Yes I thought the RNS was slightly, looking for the right word,....... 'cute'? However if it contributes to a share price recovery then good news for holders! A case perhaps of 'Beach Head' revisited? -:)) | egoi
18/11/2008 10:58 | In the Interim Results for the six months ended 30 June 2008. RNS Number: 5048E released 29 September 2006. Chief Executive Statement under the sub heading Document Management. "Key wins include: The University of Oxford admissions system, a multi-regional health services management system for the NHS, Daimler Chrysler, Coffee Nation, Macfarlanes, and Swissport. In addition we have seen strong and continued sales in the logistics sector with CEVA, EXEL, Salvesen, DHL and TNT" If all these are priced in and the key has been turned on the software then the monetary benefit should show through in the Final Results. aimo, dyor | broomsticks
18/11/2008 10:15 | I think the RNS is slightly misleading in its title. The body makes no reference to a new contract but a "successful deployment". A deployment is where the software is installed, not where it is purchased. This deployment could simply be someone installing the software purchased under a contract from a while ago and that is priced in. There's no point in asking the company since they are incommunicado. | h101
18/11/2008 10:15 | Good news - things not looking so bad after all - if these and other contract revenues have addressed the balance sheet weakness by year-end, then I guess the overhanging shares could be snapped up pretty quickly? | joestraughan
18/11/2008 09:32 | Great news and commensurate share price response - I wonder how much the last two wins will contribute to correcting the most recent results imbalance? | spaceparallax |
