Posted at 12/6/2001 11:05 by tobaccoman I was in the states last week and while flicking through Investor magazine in L.A. airport both Ariba and commerce one were on a list of 50 companies that could rebound strongly. Did not really give any good reasons why, but may be a good sign for U.S business for IBI??? |

Posted at 23/5/2001 14:17 by cb7 hooter, I'll side with Jenifer.....what it and others spiked at before is irrelevent....one could argue its worth what it has in cash, so it could rise to this amount.......the problem is that even at that value it still needs a small fortune investing in it prior to reaching profitability,(lets assume it will get there), so this amount should be DEDUCTED from that valuation...... this is why IBI sits on its present mkt cap. |
Posted at 23/5/2001 14:13 by stewjames They're burning cash at 18M/quarter with absolutely no sign of reversing this situation. They definitely haven't got the cash to see them anywhere near profitability. Why on Earth shouldn't they be at a big discount as they are now? As to a bidder getting the technology for nothing, why would they want it? Doesn't seem to be doing IBI much good. Perhaps the cash pile is attractive but how much would be left after exit costs? They should admit defeat, stop trading and return the cash to the shareholders. That way at least you'll probably get a premium to the current price rather than nothing. |
Posted at 11/5/2001 10:56 by cardio I dont post very often but feel a need to put in my 2p worth.Ihave lost over £3500 in IBI over the year and felt it was time to bail out and salvage the pitance to invest more wisely in a company that makes money.IBI is just a dream and hope company with a good idea to create matketplaces, the enviroment is to tough at the moment and suspect IBI are three to five years ahead of themselves, they will run out of money well before they make a proffit and thats a shame.I love the company and the final departure of graham sadd is the final nail in the coffin for me.This is not a deramp because i wish the company all the luck . |
Posted at 01/5/2001 00:49 by dugal This was from FridayLONDON (ShareCast.com) - Shares in the software group (IBI) are down 1p to 77p, but have been as low as 75p in earlier trade. Credit Suisse First Boston has cut its recommendation to sell from hold saying it is cautious on the shares due to a lack of revenue visibility. ------------------- We all know brokers can get it wrong and l hope that this is the case here. |
Posted at 18/4/2001 11:33 by stevel Takeover rumours.....I have been reading the posts on this thread. Interesting. I think they reflect speculation more than anything. However I am expecting an increase in M&A activity during the summer. At the last results, IBI had a cash balance in excess of £90m. Bearing in mind a cash burn of just over £20m per 6 months, that puts the cash balance at the end of June at around £70m. That equates to about £1.30 a share. Allowing for the products IBI has - a bid in the region of £1.50 or double the current price must represent a bargain to any predator. They would get the businesses for effectively £11m. You kind of get the feeling that something has to give on IBI sooner or later. This is just my thoughts, please DYOR etc. |
Posted at 15/4/2001 13:31 by sidekick Ariba has been concentrating on the larger exchanges that have proved too complex to implement and are failing. The B2B market is shifting towards smaller private exchanges (ca. 1 billion and less i.e SME). IBI is allegedly ahead of Ariba and CommerceOne in this market, with excellent software and in a position to become the world leader. A lot of ifs and buts, but if this market takes off, IBI's value will rise strongly again in the next years. BTW I am not currently invested in IBI, but I am watching carefully (yes, still nursing big losses from all the techs, but moved into cash presently).Sidekick |
Posted at 15/4/2001 04:13 by misermanuk This share will continue to fall as cash pile is eroded (that's happening at quite a rate of knots). What Izodia needs is to start announcing deals. They have to try to instill some confidence back in to the market, otherwise izodia may become i(no more)zodia. (imho) Isn't Ariba a competitor of izodia? Although Ariba recently posted negative eps, they were expected to post a profit. What does Ariba do differently to IBI that makes them more likely to post profits. Can IBI become an Ariba? Thoughts anyone? |
