Davy would want to be on both sides, so that they stay the same, after
this board room debate is over!!!

Are Davys not the house broker! ;)

Davy described the numbers as "disappointing".

I also not sure Davy is that "positive"!

DAVY VIEW: Overall, year-to-date trading is more disappointing than what we would have expected at this stage and marks a deterioration in the trends observed at the time of the group's full year results in March. We were not expecting any form of recovery in Ireland, but conditions obviously remain very difficult. While INM notes that trading has normalised since the disruption in April, it looks like the company will be stretched to achieve our revenue and EBIT objectives for the first half (revenue €303.9m and EBIT €44m). We will update our forecasts later today following discussions with management.

Still there is the possibility that this is all a smokescreen
and is only the illusion of a takeover?

Meanwhile, three INM directors have recommended that shareholders vote against adopting the company's accounts at the AGM on June 3.

Seems to me that without APN there is no need to
have global interests, and they can get back to
being an Irish newspaper, hopefully with the
technology in place to move to next generation
tabloid...i.e. Tablet newspaper!!!

They need to get stuck in there with the Irish Times
for National Interest and the London Times for technology.

There'll be a scramble to buy Done Deal and regenerate
their classified advertising side in Dublin and provincial
titles.

We are witnessing a quantum leap in Newspaper Technology.

Totally agree Caveat_Emptor, i believe DOB will eventually takeover INM and realise its value by selling off APN. Reckon thats why Desmond is sniffing around as he smells a takeover, or maybe he will use his stake to side with DOB in a vote over selling off the companies APN stake. Pity its taking so long to play out...
