09/12/2016 18:59 | borador I agree its hard to see the logic in the current price. A PE of 16 for a company whose business rests on the whim of a regulator's pen is indeed hard to justify. BTW They have £220M cash last I looked and they do require a certain amount of capital in the balance sheet due to regulatory requirements. For example they can't distribute this to shareholders as a special divi. | orinocor
09/12/2016 16:45 | Yesterday after closing a transaction of over £3mil was made, today it happened again. Any ideas ? | mitreatrading
09/12/2016 16:27 | I keep buying more. Two more tranches today. | rimmy2000
09/12/2016 16:04 | Sparky333. If IG has GBP500m in cash that is one pound thirty six pence per share. So the business is valued at approximately three pounds thirty pence ps. A pe of eleven on today's roughly revised estimates ex cash. It is hard to see the logic of the current share price on the basis of some considered regulatory tightening. But the worst is probably discounted despite the threat being just for discussion right now. Presumably IG has plans for it's own defence. The forty per cent cut story has its basis, I believe, in what happened in Japan over several years after spread betting was regulated over there, strictly dyor on this one. | bolador
09/12/2016 16:00 | there is nothing to see here. This is sentiment trade as there is literally nothing to go on it is all a guess | weemonkey
09/12/2016 15:09 | Orin if you believe broker targets and estimated EPS based on nothing concrete at present you should not be investing.Far to early to make any assumptions and 450p haircut based on speculation with no debt and £500m in cash is just ridiculous especially when the more dubious companies have faired far better. The investing world is insane | sparky333
09/12/2016 15:06 | will there be changes to margins? yep.. IG is still a buy. Will be interesting if we see some directors dealing. And quite outrageous I have to say for the couple of directors selling before the bad news hit... | frew34

09/12/2016 14:44 | well that's citigroups target hit, so what do they do now? | deanroberthunt
09/12/2016 13:56 | Yes - sentiment - sharp drops on regulatory interference are sentiment plays - IG board may have seen this coming ages ago - hence the moves into other areas such as stock broking - and limited liability accounts (not a new concept & not a bad idea) already proposed - so the share price effect may be exaggerated beyond reality. The regulator is right that SB firms move all the risk of big moves onto an 80% novice client base which is questionable morally. Sharp drops on regulatory interference also create furious debate lol ATB LM :) | luckymouse
09/12/2016 13:54 | per of 12 based on what you muggle! | deanroberthunt |
