Ouch! My initial skim of the results and outlook suggest we are in trouble at the open. Plus and CMC had good update, but ours is bad.
Headline says US rev increased, but its all interest; trading rev down by 10%. I know I am playing the same record again, but TT acquisition was a shocker in light of the numbers that have come thru last few years.

Yep. This is a great space IMO, as those other outfits have demonstrated. And I am optimistic with the new guy joining as far as this one goes too.
The only reason I virtually cleared out as I mentioned before was the fear of some nasties coming out in a kitchen sink RNS. Nothing else. Well almost nothing else. My opinion on TT remains unchanged until we get clarity on their numbers. IMO the interim showed some good sense in that 10% headcount reduction, so hopefully the start of getting the house in order in terms of cost controls.
And if there is no bad stuff to declare and the next update is strong, then I could miss out on some much bigger profits. The risk you take. Like everyone else, counting down to the next update, but especially when the new CEO has settled in and hopefully does some roadshow PR of a fashion. GLA.

I missed that. We better show a turn around too otherwise the share price might get ugly on 25/1.

A really good trading update from CMC today. Might give IGG Share Price a push this morning.

It has pretty much been that way since the founder handed over the baton.
Still, the dividends have taken the edge off, and the pain trades in autumn and early winter mean I have managed to take some good profits again here. Heavily in the red at one point. Bookmark holding left for now. Slight reduction in disclosed shorts, but nothing when compared to the short interest in HL.
Never held that one and do not fancy it now either. An expensive platform and inferior to IG IMO. Not sure if the Robin Hood shadow is hurting that one, or if it is something structurally deeper. Not planning on taking the opposite side of the trade against the shorts in that one right now personally.

This has been a very frustrating share to own for the last couple of years.
The school report on this kid consistently reading “should be doing better, with a bit more focus”.

I hope so. It would have been better to have the interims after he had joined. Even if only a couple of weeks after, so he could have delivered them, along with his vision for the future etc. I just did not/do not want to be sitting on a lot of these, should we get a kitchen sink update. If I like what he says, I will probably start to reload my position, even if it means doing so at a higher price than my various sales were.
In focus for me is naturally the TT update, with hopefully a solid UK operations performance (even if somewhat soft).
Basically evidence that JF leaving, along with those multiple - and not inconsiderable - sized inside sells from others, was not a flashing red light. Not long to wait in reality, although it feels like ages away! GLA.

Disappointing when people sell out, however I still think this offers great value. FCF yield won't go under 10% til the share price is over 900p and they'll have over 20% of market cap in cash by the end of the current financial year

Thanks for the update. The disappointing thing is that the new guys starts 29/1, 4 days after the interims that are likely to be soft.We could have cushioned that by having the new guys present his vision.
I genuinely believe that better times are ahead with the new chap. The dual listing would be the major catalyst.

I have taken more off the table since my last post. Underweight now. I wish the new CEO was joining sooner than the scheduled date, just so we can find out whether everything is going swimmingly, or some remedial work is going to be required. Was not planning on these further sells...but I am a little nervous with the above scenario in mind. Toss of a coin now whether I finally sit tight, or fully close out my position here and wait for the next update. As always, probably a screaming buy signal for others when I trim :) GLA.

Hi LWHT,

Where can we see current total shorts for UK stock?

I am always spot on in forecasting fairly precise price rises...on the occasions where I do not partake :) 770p still in range, but not hit yet, so not quite Yoda territory, but I have time yet...
Meanwhile, I am surprised that we have not seen a reduction in declared shorts yet. They must be largely (even perhaps fully) underwater right now. IMO, if this one does add another 20p or so, we might see them close, as the pressure on them must be growing now. GLA.

Yep. Just a waiting game for me now here, until the next update. Although the share price could feasibly return to the 750p, perhaps even 770p level, if we get a market Santa Rally prior to then. GLA while we wait!

Fair point about clearing out any skeletons in his next update The Long. Would provide more confidence about buying more

Very positive reaction from the market yesterday to the new CEO announcement.
I think some of the hefty trades we saw in the afternoon were probably shorts closing, although we will find out at some point next week, if this was so.
Yes, I think he will take a broom to where it is needed. Whether that includes senior people, I have no idea.
I would expect him to probably settle in first before taking any such actions, but that is predicated on there being a smooth handover, with no unpleasant finds etc.
Will be glad once we have the next update. If there are any skeletons, he can get them all out into the open, then put to work creating his vision for the company.
Either way, IMO this one is now going to start to attract wider market interest, and new investor appetite. Not before time. Good weekend all.

IG Group takes punt on Paddy Power veteran

Breon Corcoran, 52, will take charge of IG Group, one of the UK’s leading sellers of derivatives called spread bets and contracts for difference (CFDs), at the end of January. He succeeds June Felix, who relinquished her duties in July for health reasons. Charlie Rozes, the finance chief, has been running IG in the interim while the board searched for a permanent replacement. However, he arrives at a difficult time for the company. Rozes announced at the end of October that IG would cut some 300 jobs, equivalent to about 10% of its workforce, as part of a push to save £50m a year.

Yep. Currently we are on a pe of around 7.
If we had a secondary listing in NYC, even if the US market went down, we would be valued at x15.
It was interesting that he used the term “fintech”; company in his statement. The
market cares about these “headings̶1;. He took a physical booking company and merged it with n online betting firm and generated value…..this is what we need.

Ps. I hope he fires the CFO.
