       ID Data wins a contract worth an estimated US$5 million to deliver
            Multos Multi application smart cards to Buypass, Norway

Contract win

ID Data Group plc (AIM: IDD), the smart card and card solutions group, today
announces that it has been awarded a contract to manufacture and deliver Multos
multi application smart cards for use by Buypass, the leading Norwegian
security, payment services and solutions provider.

This significant order is expected to be one of the largest implementations of
the Multos technology to date and shows that ID Data's highly developed skills
in the multi application smart card business have achieved significant
recognition amongst leading edge secure card issuers.

The contract will be delivered during the financial year ending March 2009 and
is expected to result in sales revenues to the Company of some US$5 million
(#2.5 million).

ID Data won the business against international competition based upon a proven
track record of successful development and delivery of similar projects.

Commenting on the contract, Tor Henning Dahl from Buypass, said:  "Having worked

intelligently with flexibility and innovation to meet the clients' initiatives,
this contract is proof of these skills."

Industry award

ID Data also announces today that is has been awarded the Elan Award for
technical achievement by the International Card Manufactures Association for its
development of the MasterCard Paypass(R) "Touch and Go" payment technology and
its implementation during the 2008 Brit Awards. This marks the second time in
three years the company has received the Elan Award.

The Paypass(R) technology implemented by ID Data will be used by other
MasterCard issuers in Europe, the Middle East and Africa as they launch
contactless payments as a new feature of their credit and debit card programs
for the delivery of a cashless solution for payments under #10.
