Can someone please explain to me what the situation is with IDD. Are my shares completely worthless now and eligible for inclusion in my tax return as a LOSS for Capital Gains Tax purposes? thank you in anticipation - Opti.

22/12/2009 : ID Data joins the TALL Group of Companies
The business and assets of Card Data Management Limited, which trades as ID Data, have been acquired by The TALL Group of Companies.

The TALL Group of Companies, which comprises TALL Security Print Limited of Runcorn, Cheshire and Checkprint Limited of Hinckley, Leicestershire is the leading provider of specially printed cheques, credits, encoded documents and secure payment solutions. The Group enjoys longstanding contractual relationships with many UK and International Banks and Financial Institutions, including Barclays, RBS Group, HBOS, HSBC, Nationwide Building Society etc.

The acquisition of ID Data, which operates from MasterCard and APACS accredited premises in Petersfield, Hampshire, substantially broadens the scope of the TALL Group, enhancing the existing paper and electronic payments products and services with a full range of secure payment cards, retail, identity and access cards and card payments technology services.

Commenting on the acquisition, Martin Ruda, TALL Group of Companies Managing Director, said "We have been looking into the secure card sector for some time, and the opportunity to acquire ID Data has come at a very good time for both parties. We are pleased to welcome to the Group an excellent team of people at ID Data, whose capabilities and quality products and services have been well proven over many years.

TALL Security Print and Checkprint have established themselves as the leading providers of special cheque products and services, and in addition to the growing range of electronic payment solutions we can now bring secure card systems into the line-up.

We believe there is an excellent fit in terms of technology, customer relationships and culture, and we are very excited about future opportunities, both in the UK and overseas".

Peter Cox of ID Data, said "I am delighted that the business has found a solid home for the future. I am confident that the acquisition by the TALL Group will be a great success".

The TALL Group of Companies currently turns over around £10million and has been significantly and consistently profitable over many years.

Anyone know who's producing the Clubcard relaunch?
Keep thinking my portfolio is doing well, then I remember the big black hole that was IDD

Rab, all.

I feel for you all. The bottom line is this. No matter what company you trade in, it makes no difference when you are told over the phone. Unless you are an investment company, meeting the company, asking to see accounts etc as a large shareholder, you generally know nothing. They are never able to tell you anything extra other than what is in the public domain. I have lost personally lots of money over the past 10 years through no stop losses, long term holds and basically thinking everything is ok, when its not. Some come good some don't.

Because of the above, I have learned a lot and have been able through experience to spot business activities that don;t always seem plausible to the average eye. That's why I alerted those concerned, I could see no reason for taking Credecard out of the company other than to protect the asset. Now that's fine as he can do what he likes really, but the writing was on the wall then and we now all the result.

Even though I have never held this stock, for me after years of dilution, years of trading, and years of seeing the stock fall/rise and fall again, I just could not see how its current operations were going to work any longer. You know what I mean, have a go, cut costs and try and make a profit for the business. It seems that was never possible, why I don't know.

So he's sold what he can, took out what he can and the rest will be wound down to sod all. IDD cards will be taken into his hands for a fee I'm sure to settle some of the debts.

Don't be surprised if one day you'll see a company in its new form, with now debt, with a business making money.

For sure Peter Cox is saying he's put this and that money in, yes Peter, so what, you own the effing thing you idiot. Who are you fooling. You've only done that to ensure you remain a creditor and can take the final assets into your hands.

As I say its pure business and one must understand, if it was us, we'd probably do the same, look after number 1.

i can tell you guys that we will not get a penny out of this, Peter rang me and explained the situation, basically nobody came up with a better offer, and if the plc did not delist the tax man would have gone after it, he also said he has put 600k working capitol into idd Ltd and has had to guarantee 2mil.
so it's bye bye money it's all gone.

Defenestration is the word that springs to mind. For that lying snide crook Cox.
As for haldane, simple punching all round the idd car park methinks.

Will achieve little. But will make me feel a fukin lot better.
