03/1/2018 19:19 | PM's being slammed again. New Year, same old. | eeza
03/1/2018 13:21 | Topicel. As you say, probably just me misunderstanding. I see the PM's much higher this year as well. Perhaps some of the crypto flight funds will return to PM's in due course after they have all become millionaires?! 2018 is a long road barely started. So many straws in the wind that can indirectly influence the gold price as well as all those that have a direct effect. Those having a direct effect would include: physical supply running out (EFP contract proliferation), Comex/LME on their last legs (as ever!)? Trump progressing with 'draining the swamp' which should include the criminals at the Fed Reserve and TBTF Banks, dollar collapse, inflation surge, adding to the $21 trillion debt etc etc. Looking back at some of Clif High's predictions in January a year ago - no fireworks so far but these LT moves can take an age to play out. Especially when the politicians are intent on kicking all the problems down the road. At least until after the next election! Clif High on 2017: "Hyper inflation coming to the US this year in the second half. The population embarks on a second gold rush harking back to 1845 in California. The dollar is doomed. The US will have a 10-20 year period to reconstitute itself similar to what happened in Russia after the break up of the Soviet Union." | stevea171
03/1/2018 12:52 | And hardly a pullback in PM's so far. | onedayrodders
03/1/2018 09:28 | Topicel. Happy New Year to you. "Stevea is reporting much lower average price achieved overall for gold in 2017 so we are at least ahead of the game so far... ;)" Not so. Just 2 words wrong makes a lot of difference! 2017 averages. Gold approx $1250, silver approx $17.10. 2016 averages. Gold $1216, silver $17.10. 2017 vs 2016. An improved year for gold prices but silver prices about flat. HOC FY 2016 sale prices. "For 2016 as a whole, average realisable precious metal prices were $1,216/ounce for gold and $17.1/ounce for silver, in line with average market prices for the period." | stevea171
03/1/2018 08:36 | Hey guys, Can anyone tell me what a 'Blocklisting Interim Review' is, saw the RNS filing made by Hochschild this morning, but can't find a good explanation on the term. Cheers D. | d3009
03/1/2018 08:32 | ODR - at the Asian open last night gold hit and was reported on Bloomberg at 1320 and silver 17.20, so expect those targets today if the brakes have indeed been released for the New Year and a cyclical change. It was also mentioned though that gold was pushing through a longterm resistance at that level and to also expect pullbacks! All I know is the mood and sense of ever increasing pressure on the greenback is building again. At some point the HOC chart will react again - Stevea is reporting much lower average price achieved overall for gold in 2017 so we are at least ahead of the game so far... ;) Topicel | topicel
03/1/2018 00:01 | This from Ira Epstein Silver is trading at an important number, its 200-Day Moving Average of Closes. If it can manage to get over this resistance zone, the upside could become surprising as it might signal that long term bottom is in place. I have doubt about silver going back through the December lows anytime soon. The last break looked like a washout that ended up catching those bullish off guard given how prices went into a vertical price rise AFTER the vertical price break. | rathkum
02/1/2018 22:30 | Nice PM action continuing ..closing above $1310 on gold very bullish | onedayrodders

02/1/2018 22:06 | H. Oh you are the little rebel rouser aren't you?! If you keep coins on an exchange then you're making the first mistake. Buy a Ledger Nano S. When you come to sell, you buy BTC or Ether or LTC and send them to Coinbase. Then sell it there and send yourself the money. Get with the program ;) | dt1010
02/1/2018 20:44 | Hi C/G,If it helps I use coinbase but also use bittrex who offer a good range of alt coins. They have been good so far. I only use them to trade Neo and Xrp which I think have interesting future potential. | albo76
02/1/2018 19:01 | H - I don't have any experience of alt coin exchanges but have heard some worrying stories of people who have been hacked. I guess that's why I am still with my original coinbase and the boring main 4 cryptos, they are safe! Well, as safe as possible anyway. As far as the crypto flight to PMs well now, that is interesting indeed. If the cabal stopped manipulating I would be buying more that's for certain. Maybe there is a cunning plan afoot. | charles clore
02/1/2018 18:07 | fieldhouse many thanks a little bit of dilution explains it, but HOC should now still resume a short term rally based on silver recovery pricing. Bitcoin smart money, is starting to return to PM's ( don't quote me, its in the telegraph today) so get back to silver. " .. smart money may already be moving out of bitcoin to gold". I'm not saying, the other cryptos, and there are many very interesting propos. | hectorp
02/1/2018 18:05 | Off topic, one of our regulars who sold his silver too cheap, mentioned using Binance. This should be avoided at all costs. Apart from anything else, they don't accept your credit card / sterling / Euros. However read this: Traders` reviews for Binance Submit a complaint or share your experience with Binance Your Name Your Email Review Title Your opinion Security code Binance trades Am a new user in binance but the many experiences of people not being able to withdraw the money after trading is not encouraging at all. The few not well thought out arrogant answers by the binance team are totally not helping the situation either. Please, kindly but urgently address the many issues raised by the several complaints. We need to be assured that our funds are safe. George 12/23/2017 (1) (5) Stay away! 02/1/2018 15:45 | has someone ticked off a Nymex agent | onedayrodders
02/1/2018 15:38 | relax Top ... in Trump's end of year speech he said that the Stock Market will continue to rise in 2018. So I guess everyone just put's their kitchen sink into the passive index and wait for the treasure to roll in. | onedayrodders
02/1/2018 15:34 | The momentum in PMs and dollar weakness continues in the main, but it will be a struggle still without a nice kickstart somewhere. Cue the US senate having fun - on the Democrat and Tea Party sides - with the debt ceiling issues and the possible Government shutdown. The fiscal policy votes need a much tougher pass number and so expect the Democrats to press home some advantage here for once after losing out on the tax plan agenda. The Tea Party and Freedom Caucus lot will not be happy with the $20 trillion debt ceiling being exceeded or extended further nor for Trump to expect it higher to pay for Walls and infrastructure or even tax cuts. All of these will aid PMs as will no likelihood of any interest rate rise threat until March, if only because Yellen is leaving in Feb... So can HOC finish blue on the back of all this and further income gains on 2017 figures? Topicel | topicel

02/1/2018 10:25 | H - please let me know if you find an exchange that deals in a wide range of alt coins. Here is a source of new issues FYI | charles clore
02/1/2018 09:57 | aha .. PM's up HOC down .. normal service resumed ;o) Good action in PM's ... especially if we close around these levels. Starting to feel a significant move ... maybe I should have said that after Nymex close today ! | onedayrodders
02/1/2018 09:22 | Happy New Year to all. I also propose PM's will have a good january and so HOC could get to 300 in the next couple of weeks so I'm in there this morning for the trade. I was long silver over last week and gold too, but closed on the 29th. - I appreciate those little crypto startups and innovations and I'll stick £1000 in three or four of them each, just to see how it goes. Even if Bitcoin is down at say $4000 in six months, there is still plenty mileage in the other cryptos. But I'd beware of the second liners at present which could also suffer with any further bitcoin pullbacks. | hectorp
02/1/2018 08:05 | Pot may be a profitable diversion, canadian growers but prefer PGMs. Bitcoin in hyperloop so finishing its advance. | edjge2 |
