Is there a small gap at 100p juju? - I have a top-up planned for next week!

Someone having a concerted shake-out here by the look of it!

DT - This from the man who was only giving us his optimistic analysis last week...

No end in sight. No support. This must be despair. Fastest way to lose a fortune. Buy a gold miner.
This shyte has dropped 32% from its 337p peak. To get back there it's got to go up 47%. This is being crushed. It's time something was done to stop the rot.

So yeah, lets all be optimistic...the Sun is out here and HOC shares are going south...Life is good. I'm blessed. Or maybe the sarcasm and jest is lost on people round here.

Topicel,

Why do you think the dollar is about to get dumped? Against what? The EURUSD is looking very precarious, and you could argue from the graph that it won't be long before parity is back on the agenda.

The share is just trading between 2 and 3 quid - it hasn't been hit as much as many other miners. PMs should start recovering within the next week, given that we have had two COT reports in a row where commercials are reducing their short positions.

Too pessimistic here I think. Technically this is totally smashed with indicators on the floor and only one way to go . Further downside should be minimal if any

They need to defend the dollar now as they see what is coming. Massive pre-shift repositioning to limit the losses once oil goes to the Yuan and gold ...

How could this be anything but canary in the mine movement?

The debt, the lack of GDP growth, all the other macro indicators scream the dollar is about to be dumped so even news like the new Fed chair is adding to the defence.

And if Las Vegas turns out to be an Hispanic as some MSM is suggesting...here comes the wall and more dollar strength as Japan's election adds to the Yen doubts...

That HOC presentation shows the wise moves here are to add on this weakness. Nowt has changed just because stuff is being said internationally no more about NK etc. That was always a red herring anyway.

GS has the right idea. He'll probably catch the bottom, lucky git!

This share will continue to tumble this week. well below £2, maybe even by today once the US markets open. Considering this is a sound company, the share price hardly reflects this. Of course, people will tell us how next year the debt will be paid off...blah blah blah...people clutching at straws. The share price should be nowhere near this price but it HAS.

technical traders will have picked up some clues last week. HOC has closed its monthly candle slap on the 20 month MA, and last weeks candle is a dhoji. Its also hovering around the 38.2% FIB retrace for the main move up from Jan 16, and is very close to the 2016 close at the end of December 16 (dec 29th high 219, same as last thursdays close), ie full return to the start of this year, given up all the annual gain. The interpretation I wont get into, as many thinks its mumbo-jumbo, other than to say if it majorly violates here, time to re-evaluate. I took profits on the way up but am underwater by a similar amount now, having got in again on the first big gap down. Am holding for the mo, as the technicals are suggesting a bounce from here. Happy investing all, keep the useful reviews on fundementals coming onto the thread.
