09/12/2020 08:20 | JPM is not on board. They handled the placing. | stevea171
08/12/2020 23:48 | Looking even better for HOC's BioLantanidos, 100% ownership of this rare earths project in Chile. Prices Of Chinese Rare Earths Are Soaring. 12/08/2020. November saw the prices of all major Chinese-sourced rare earths spike, but especially those used in magnets. In particular, the research note mentioned neodymium, which is the most common rare earth used in making magnets, which rose by 27% since early in November, up over 50% year to date. Several other key rare earths also increased in value last month, including dysprosium (+17%), gadolinium (+9%) and terbium (+27%). | stevea171
08/12/2020 18:41 | Just thinking how nice it is to own shares in a mining company where the market cares more about the chairman's personal finances than a rising price of metals. Which I could buy more tbh before the market wakes up. | breaktwister
08/12/2020 17:31 | What kind of "corporate action"? | breaktwister
08/12/2020 15:56 | December 8, 2020 Riverside Resources and Hochschild Mining Progress with Exploration Work at the Cuarentas Project, Sonora, Mexico | misterbluesky
08/12/2020 14:19 | K3. Thanks for that. re JPM being paid in shares, I would rule that out. HOC are not short of a $ or two in reddies and are opposed to dilution for good reason incl Eduardo would not have it. This unreasonable share price has only persisted for a few days so far so will have to see how the rest of the week pans out and longer term ..... | stevea171
08/12/2020 13:18 | when such an unreasonable low share price persist for a longer period (month or few months) despite the reason and big banks are involved - many times corporate action follows. if and what kind of I could not suggest for HOC. just a general remark here it preceeds maybe JPM was paid in shares and is dumping, derivatives game etc | kaos3
08/12/2020 12:18 | Tuscan. Quite right. To you, to me, to all of us who have been following the company for years this continuation of sub 200p selling is strange. All I can think of is Fund Manages want to clean up their books ahead of the calendar year end when they have to show holdings and profit/loss against the main holdings. So maybe sell now and buy back in January? Who knows? Exploration and drilling results are on-going but no final picture will emerge for some time. It's only really Pallancata that is of significant interest. HOC has various options there and is just waiting to see which deposit is likely to have the highest resource, closest to the mine, lowest cost to develop parameters etc. | stevea171
08/12/2020 11:36 | Steve,I too am puzzling over this. Presumably the buyers of £123m of HOC were made privy to any trading aspects detrimental to HOC's situation. Maybe there are some concerns hence the very big discount to get the stock away. Perhaps recent exploration results have been less than stellar ? Is the market expecting Edwuardo to continue to reduce, or is this sale signalling to the market that an approach would at least be considered. Continue to expect 300-500p over the next 12-18 months. | tuscan4
08/12/2020 11:04 | You have to wonder who is still selling below 200p and why? People were paying 210 - 240p in the days and weeks before the announcement of this 12% stake sale. There are no skeletons in HOC's cupboard. It is a very upstanding company which updates the market speedily on any market sensitive news as it has done all this year on CV matters and production changes. The view that Eduardo must be selling because he knows of bad news coming and is reducing his stake ahead of the SHTF is just bunkum. HOC has had a very difficult year due to the CV which they have reported on and is reflected in the share price With only weeks to go, next year should see the company back on track and a veritable cash machine. Zero net debt as of year end unlike most other PM miners. | stevea171
07/12/2020 18:22 | Bocase, I bought another £70k of Hoc over Friday and this am, at 200, 198, 194 and 189 as a result of reading the Art of Execution that you timely recommended last week. I didnt want to be a rabbit and headed the advice, when it tumble shoose, eoither sell or buy more! Thanks | sotolo
07/12/2020 18:11 | Gold: $1865 Silver: $24.70 US$ Index: 90.75 Big Picture. Dollar is trash (below the significant 92 on the US$ Index and falling). Gold is King. PM rebound under way. First targets - $2000 gold, $27 then $30 silver. | stevea171
07/12/2020 18:00 | bought in today at 190p - happy to hold and add | scepticalinvestor
07/12/2020 17:53 | If PMs can hold these gains today, gold up 1.5% and silver 2.4%, we will surely get back above 200 tomorrow? "the chairman sold some of his multimillion pound holding" is now priced in already, surely? | breaktwister
07/12/2020 17:06 | RNS. Back to work in Argentina. No change to production guidance. | stevea171
07/12/2020 14:32 | Sotolo. Probably Eduardo needs the money now before year end for alternative investments he has lined up. This open offer provides certainty of the sale and receipts early this month and allows him to move forward as a cash buyer for deals before Xmas or early next year. Putting the company up for sale could drag on for quite some time. | stevea171
07/12/2020 13:28 | R1singsun. Hi. The CV this year has thrown a spanner in the works of a myriad of hopes and plans - individuals, companies, across the board. Eduardo has seen little share price appreciation since HOC listed in 2006 with volatility being the name of the game thanks largely to the PM manipulation continuing to this day. If HOC goes the way of Randgold and Acacia recently (Barick) there are other gold/silver miners that are smaller and may do even better percentage wise during this PM bull market ... Now Highland Gold takeover is just about completed. POG won't last long given the Board room shenanigans there. Even CEY was subject to a £1.5 billion bid by Endeavour just a year ago but that was thrown out. That's nearly a full house for the LSE listed Ftse350 PM miners. So to my mind it's a case of when rather than whether. | stevea171
07/12/2020 13:28 | All cash...I have a temporary 'mans challenge' otherwise we are all very well... I have followed your own updates and think of you often... All bought for cash...my days of T20 are largely over... ATB mate PS we sold our place in Portugal in January....lucky timing...! | rougepierre
07/12/2020 13:21 | Edouardo still has a 38% stake so still really need to convince him if a bid is to work. But I don’t buy there will be one as if he entertained that why would he have sold 12% at a low proce rather than courting a bid for his whole stake at a higher price? | sotolo
07/12/2020 13:14 | All's well RP. Do hope you didn't take all that position on a T3. Lol. Hope you and yours are all good. | knocknock
07/12/2020 12:58 | SteveaGood to hear from you. I must admit with all this news I fear my long term holding is not going to bag as I had hoped. With the controlling stake gone it now looks like an invitation for a short term takeover. Hochschilds assets will be taken over not at a good premium as we had hoped for a good few years but at a slight premium to closing share prices. Not to mention involvement of criminals like jpm. Feel very let down on this one. | r1singson
07/12/2020 12:55 | Aha KK...how are you...? I've just re-entered and delighted to do so...at an average under 195p... I understand the disappointment on here from long term holders, but that's what I intend to become with well over six figures invested here again... Cheers | rougepierre
07/12/2020 12:50 | In the same breathe those talking the share up are typically long or awaiting a short entry point at a higher share price | knocknock
07/12/2020 12:43 | I don't want a bid at these prices, imagine if a bid came in now at 20% over market price. | breaktwister |
