OK, thanks for the clarification.

Unfortunately I have some indirect exposure through UK smaller company IT holdings.

Luck to holders.

The rating was extraordinary last year - a food group selling in the 20's X.

Inflation has been rising for far longer than supply bottlenecks post pandemic.

So you're saying inflation has nothing to do with borrowing then? Funny that as I and most others think it has everything to do with borrowing, from buying big ticket items to everyday luxuries that many have gotten used to with the culture of buy now pay later? But I guess we're all wrong and you're right..

HFG margins was already impacted by the higher interest cost, further interest rate hikes will need to be cushioned somehow

The interest rate hike will do nothing to tame inflation.
Inflation is caused by two factors, restricted supply (temporary inflation) and money printing (permanent, unless tackled).
Cheap borrowing isn't a big contributing factor to the inflation we are seeing. Current low rates won't encourage saving either, besides people have not much left at the end of the month to put money in a bank account with a low interest rate.
Contradictory I have read somewhere that there might be a new stamp duty holiday.
People will get on with more property buying and more borrowed money for their mortgages!
Our politicians don't know what they are doing.

Could have been worse, let's see what happens this afternoon after the BOE rate released, but for sure these hikes will tame inflation but at what cost to our economy? Everyone has to eat however and although a bargain right now anything lower would be a steal..

The fed will hike interest rates, just as the bank of England will

A lot of shares traded hand's on the 15th and 16th so the bottom might just be in but more cash on hand if it drops on Thursday after the Fed rate decision on Wednesday evening, also the mini budget could just cook up a tasty re-trace this coming week?

That's for sure, what about consumer acceptance, will cultured meat look the same, taste the same as meat, or will it be in the form of an overprocessed burger, rather than a good looking and tasting proper stake?

Livestock are one of the biggest contribution of pollution, just think how many sheep and cattle there are, so cultured meats might just be the way forward in these green times?

What are your thought about cultured meat, I have the feeling that there isn't much market for it. Not among vegans, nor meat eaters either.
On the back of the recent trading update:, could inflation and higher interest rates constitute an existential risk for Hilton Food? I wouldn't like to see the company being taken over under-priced at some point in future.

I was confident in a rebound, 30% fall is harsh.
