lots of director buying which is helpful.

SB margin changes etc have undoubtedly had an effect producing a good opportunity for those prepared to buy now and sit it out

Probably market makers taking advantage of weak sentiment in order to encourage holders to sell. They then get to pick up shares on the cheap.

I did sell some of these myself, but that was the day before it went ex-div when I thought it prudent to take profit on 5,000 shares at 81.5p. Wish I'd sold more, but now that we are down at these levels I may well top up...

Has Highway come to the end of the road? The recent drop in the share price looks like bad news on the way. Any ideas why?

This year if you are an investor now the 4th of March and the volatility has outstripped 2007 easily with 9 months to go.
Looking at my portfoilio of stocks 10 out of 21 stocks are more volatile than FTSE.
This is a high yielding portfolio.

Leadersoffice,

From the results:

"The proposed final dividend of 4.1p per share gives a total dividend for the
year of 5.75p per share (2006: 5.5p) which represents an increase of 4.5%.
Subject to shareholder approval at the AGM on 29 April 2008, the dividend will
be payable on 9 May 2008 to shareholders on the register on 7 March 2008. The
shares will be quoted ex-dividend from 5 March 2008."

Yes. Looking forward to my 4.1p per share in May.

These results look better than forecast. I suppose the small rise in the share price so far is because many private investors just aren't investing at the moment. Fund managers, of course, always need to spend time looking at the figures in much more detail before they decide to buy more or sell...

Brilliant results, before the exceptional flooding (which incidentally, will help to push rates up), operating ratio was just above breakeven at 99.6%.
Fantastic investment return considering the volatility of the last 4 months where they made 3.7% return.

Dividend actually increased, yield is a healthy 7.5% (at 77p)

Next year should be a cracker.
