12/12/2018 03:53 | As i’ve mentioned before i was lucky enough to have bought in a while ago so still hold a big percentage profit on them- i could have made an absolute packet had i sold in Jan around 20 times profit! i didn’t put much in as saw it as a gamble and i’ve lost more on betting on liverpool football club over the years! People buying over the past few months have no excuse anymore not to know that it’s a pure gamble and should be treated as such- some of my friends short instead of betting on football as the market is always open. Early doors on this forum people were saying alternate to gold etc etc i kept saying it’s like nothing else just a gamble and still see it this way. i still hold my original ones as am lucky enough not to need the cash and it’s still worth a gamble. | stevedaytrader
11/12/2018 11:08 | As Gold watching has become rather boring....I think it is time to call a halt to trading in Cryptos. Has anyone noticed how Bitcoin Cash SV has risen over 100% in a month and is now on its way down. I have noticed how for a few days one of the top 20 coins rises by 50%, then falls, then another coin takes it turn. All I can see is the small retail investor being continually flogged and fleeced to death when it comes to Cryptocurrencies...I also wish they would stop call them Currencies as Cryptos have nothing what so ever to do with being a currency. I would call gold a currency as one can go almost anywhere in the world and either freely exchange gold for the local currency or actually buy things with the gold in ones pocket. | loganair

10/12/2018 10:38 | If there is a second referendum it will include remain or the may deal as this is the only brexit deal on the table. If I thought for 1 minute that no deal was to happen, I would sell all my stocks, investments, pensions etc and buy usd or gold, actual gold and not stocks in a heartbeat. It is undemocratic if there is a second referendum not to allow the people to vote on the deal v remain and now we know what brexit will mean to all of us and not a load of bluster and bluff that people were told it would be. | stevedaytrader
10/12/2018 10:38 | Casual & Fangorn - get a room!! | borisjohnsonshair
10/12/2018 10:24 | @Casual I agree that a referendum would be a solution if parliament can't decide. But it would have to be a choice between May's deal or no deal. Anything else would be a travesty. Concur. I have no issue with another referendum if the question is LEAVE on May's deal or WTO deal.Remain should not be on the ballot as that has already been decided for a generation. If it is on the ballot, and LEAVE option is May's Remain with no say, then I expect rioting, civil strife and a descent into civil war. Depressing Remoaners are willing to risk such, for overturning democracy will yield that, just to get their way. | fangorn2
10/12/2018 10:07 | The leave view is very simple too. The problem is not the majority of people who voted for Brexit, the problem is the majority of politicians who don't want it. Even if we assume May set out to deliver Brexit it is clear she was hamstrung by parliament at every turn. There were amendments upon amendments, court cases, even closed-door backroom meetings between e.g. Verhofstadt and British remain politicians to coordinate their moves. I agree that a referendum would be a solution if parliament can't decide. But it would have to be a choice between May's deal or no deal. Anything else would be a travesty. | casual47
10/12/2018 05:37 | Haha Loganair, the remainers have always had a simple view which is to remain. the prob is brexiteers keep arguing amongst themselves on what they want from brexit so do not have a simple single view apart from the crazy completely unrealistic impossible view of a deal we could have got had one of them negotiated it. In an ideal world we would have a brexiteer only referendum to get them to agree what their option is as this is not the current May one and then put this against remain option. Of course this will not happen. Many of my brexit friends voted on the unrealistic view and they all have different views on what they would accept now as brexit. The remainers like me all have the same view to remain which is my view. If tomorrow’s vote fails which is most likely parliament are split and there is no majority for any option and even if article 50 is extended there will never be a consensus. Our sovereign, democratic only way of dealing a parliament unable to agree a consensus is to go back to the people- brexiteers want sovereignty so can’t object to this. Brexiteers should have come together to agree what their preferred option is, this has not happened. I like gamble, but i will not gamble on how this pans out as it is too hard to predict! | stevedaytrader
09/12/2018 15:25 | There is so much rubbish being talked about Brexit. 1. All members of the EU are also members of the EEA, however all members of the EEA (Norway, Iceland & Liechtenstein) are not members of the EU. 2. The EEA and EFTA are completely different organisations, however so often they are being talked about as one and the same thing Switzerland is a member of EFTA with Norway, Iceland & Liechtenstein while it is not a member of the EEA. When the UK leaves the EU it is still a member of the EEA as the UK has not put in to leave the EEA only the EU. | loganair

30/11/2018 13:53 | US President Donald Trump and China’s leader Xi Jinping will likely reach a compromise on trade at their G20 meeting, says Wells Fargo Asset Management. “I am optimistic that they will strike a deal. I don't think it's going to be the deal that either side wants, but I think there will be some concessions,” said Kirk Hartman, global chief investment officer at Wells Fargo Asset Management. “I think this is more about protecting US technology as much as it is trade, so I think you will see some comments on that front.” On Thursday, Trump told reporters he could be close to striking a deal with China on trade but was not sure he wanted to do it “Both sides have so much at stake here that they are going to reach some kind of agreement,” Hartman noted, adding that any agreement at the meeting “will be extremely positive for the market.” | loganair
