Missed the call alas! My take on a quick scan on todays new and share price impact, I tend not to look and act at market opening as have been stung in the past by acting and second guessing on the market reaction.
OK- production overall still on track despite Q1 drop and some pick up in Q2 (we already knew this).
Relative to last year: 1)"Positives"- profit up ~10% divi up ~20% 0.06 v 0.0498, debt reduced ~5%, profit up ~10% 2)"Negatives"- revenues down ~1% (gold price has been lower so this will impact Y/E financials to some extent, EBDITA down ~2.5% 3)"Neutral"- EBITDA margin improved ~1% but only as revenues down, partly because of production behind track but again, we already knew this. Today's context is STRONG DOLLAR and lower GOLD(again), FTSE also down. Overall take- happy to keep holding this stock, strong future pipeline and targets on track.
What to look for soon- Kekura info.


Anyone listen to the conference call today? Any views/feedback from this are most welcome.

#12983 The reduction in debt caught my eye too. Just a quick glance so far.

I had done some studying of the Q2 results which are a good signpost if you care to read them, so expected another 5p.

I'm guessing RA will want them to keep paying out earnings as divi, that might explain the rise if debt is being reduced. But the trading wasn't great in Q1 and PoG will be down a bit in Q3.

Smidgeon rise in AISC, but decent rise in Divi and $15m odd lopped off the Net Debt position.

One lustrous divi up 20.48% equivalent to 4.6% of my purchase price at 130p. Mighty pleased.

Anyone aware of an up-to-date "$/oz in the ground" for the various regions in the world?

Read an EY(?) report on it which had some good insights re. the difference in valuation between e.g. Russian gold assets versus those elsewhere like Latin America (with Russia/FSU being discounted quite significantly) but this was a good few years ago.

For sure Russia and co are still discounted compared to miners and ounces in the ground elsewhere but would be good to know what the gap is nowadays.

HGM has been the more robust and resilient goldie in my portfolio last few weeks. Even e.g. today it was my only goldie share which went up...

Hopefully this is all a build up to smashing H1 results.

You did well to hold your nerve at 125 and not sell- i tend not to short these ones they are one of my very few long termers for reasons i’ve already stated- i do short a lot of others and you can’t always buy at the lowest and sell at the highest but if you get somewhere in between it’s ace- i, like everyone, don’t always get it right and these goldies are always more risky than others but hen again the rewards are higher. I think long term these are ace but of course they could just as easily dip back short term- fingers crossed they don’t for me though!

I wanted to unwind some of my various stock positions into cash

I was average at around £1.32 so took a very small profit. I had £160k worth so when they hit £1.25, i was looking at a large loss.

Thanks justiceforthemany- what results are these? The only dates I've found are 13Sep for ED and 25Sep for 2018 Projected Results Interim.
