30/11/2017 11:17 | Well that would make Russian gold producing companies a future bonanza, I am quite surprised the US fund managers are not stocking up on them, dyor. | srpactive
30/11/2017 11:10 | Most shorting is done on Comex and LME. There have been reports they can be leveraged up to 500-600 times physical held. All the while allowing China ( and Russia ) to soak up all the cheap gold. Its scandalous what they are doing to protect the dollar. | killary cunton
30/11/2017 09:25 | Institutional and Private investors. I understand there is something like 100 x's more ETF's then there is actual gold. | loganair
30/11/2017 09:21 | Who holds the paper gold ETF's? | srpactive
30/11/2017 09:16 | srp - It seems to me that the gold price is being heavily manipulated in order to keep it down by lots of worthless paper gold ETF's. | loganair
30/11/2017 08:20 | Third down day, so due a bounce hopefully back into the 160p's. I cannot understand why gold is not surging with the Russians buying heavily and North Korea and Trump at it again, dyor. | srpactive
29/11/2017 08:45 | Bitcoin now over $10,000. It seems to me that Bitcoin is little better than Fiat paper money as it is mined out of nothing like Fiat money is printed out of nothing. At some point I believe there is going to be an almighty massive crash in the value of Bitcoin. | loganair
29/11/2017 07:44 | Lets hope today we can get through 160p to the upside and stay there, dyor. Gold rising to new recent high's. | srpactive
27/11/2017 07:59 | L Excellent informative post again, do you have any informed views on the article? It does sound very good for Russian gold producers. I think we could see gold mining company consolidation. Dyor. Edit: Gold moving in the right direction if we can close above $1293.4 would be a good start, dyor. | srpactive
26/11/2017 20:39 | Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS) are discussing the establishing a separate gold trading system, according to the First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Central Bank Sergey Shvetsov. “The traditional (trade) system based in London and partially in Swiss cities is becoming less relevant as new trade hubs are emerging, first of all in India, China, and South Africa,” he said. BRICS countries are large economies with substantial reserves of gold and an impressive volume of production and consumption of the precious metal, said the official. According to him, the new system may serve as a basis for the further creation of new benchmarks. The Bank of Russia has already signed a memorandum on developing bilateral gold trade with China. The regulator plans to form a single trade system with the People’s Republic of China in 2018. “We assume that trade and clearing links should be established. The point is that gold buyers should decide on the place of purchase," Shvetsov said, adding that trade links will enable market participants to make deals on international exchanges via the central counterparty. Last year, the Bank of Russia and the People's Bank of China announced plans to create a platform that would unite gold trading by the world's two biggest gold buying countries. According to the World Gold Council, Russia is the largest official buyer of gold and the world's third-biggest producer, with the central bank purchasing from domestic miners through commercial banks. It has more than doubled the pace of gold purchases over the past decade, adding more than 1,250 tons to its gold reserves. In the second quarter of 2017, it accounted for 38 percent of all gold purchased by central banks. | loganair
24/11/2017 19:42 | Good close, nice double bottom formed, dyor. | srpactive
22/11/2017 20:44 | f66 Gold looking super, if we can close above $1293.4 that would be brilliant. I am expecting a break into the 160p's tomorrow hopefully, dyor. I thought it might be at the open but I was wrong. | srpactive
22/11/2017 17:55 | Got your 157 | fenners66
22/11/2017 08:16 | Through 155.75p resistance and above the 200dma, looking better with the support of gold, dyor. | srpactive
21/11/2017 20:56 | Back positive tomorrow, my target is 157p. If we can get above the 200dma that would be excellent, dyor. | srpactive
21/11/2017 15:26 | And about time, better to hold gold than fiat currencies. | celeritas
21/11/2017 14:30 | Hello Gold. | srpactive
21/11/2017 13:32 | L Thank you once again, you are a gem. With the gold buying Russian government in such a mood a Russian gold mining companies is the place to be for years and years, imagine the gold price when the equity markets ease and war breaks out, it will as that will ensure Mr Trump has a second term, dyor. | srpactive
21/11/2017 13:23 | srp - Time of the month again... The Russian central bank added another 700,000 ounces of gold (21.8 tonnes) to its gold reserves in October. With a total holding of 57.9 million ounces – or just over 1,800 tonnes. Russia has been expanding its gold reserves by around 200 tonnes a year (around 185 tonnes so far this year – with 2 months to go.) China is currently reporting zero month by month increases in its reserves (which we believe is not its true gold accumulation position). Note...China doesn't export any of the gold it mines. | loganair
21/11/2017 09:38 | You are having your little pullback now, alot higher very soon, dyor. When the US market opens, the share price changes direction to the opposite usually. | srpactive
21/11/2017 09:17 | Well, I think you might see a pullback sooner, Active. | woodhawk
21/11/2017 08:37 | I am expecting a challenge of 157p very soon, dyor. | srpactive |
