USA is free for the privileged few. Don't like Iran politics but calling USA the great Satan now has a ring of truth about it as USA's devious control mechanisms are increasingly exposed. Still if Western populations are content to continue taking bromides, nothing will change.

Correct, and they think the US is open and free, try asking
BP what they think of them or all the online gambling firms that
have people in jail over there. And I thought trading with Cuba
was outlawed until recently, of forgot okay for the US.

The rise to 200p, has really taken place, with a very good
dividend attached and a rising gold price.

IC - Several of the operational and financial levers that led Highland Gold (HGM) to a strong performance in 2015 were again evident in the six months to June. All-in sustaining costs - the most comprehensive measure for miners' outgoings - dropped from $640 (£494) an ounce in 2015 to $609 at the half-year, as the weak rouble offset the negative impact of inflation and energy price increases.

That coincided nicely with a 6 per cent year-on-year uptick in gold production, which was largely thanks to further development of the higher-grade underground mine at Novoshirokinskoye. This meant output from the site - where ore processing capacity is set to rocket to 1.3 million tons over the next two years - increased by nearly a fifth from the comparable period in 2015 to 57,960 ounces.

The picture was less rosy at the Belaya Gora mine in Russia's far eastern Khabarovsk region, where grades and recoveries fell despite higher ore production. In an effort to reassess the mine's gold reserves and improve recovery rates from the mill, Highland has called in industry consultancy SRK.

According to Bloomberg, analyst consensus is for pre-tax profits of $91m and adjusted EPS of 20¢ for the 2016 calendar year, up from $49.9m and 15.8¢ in 2015.

IC VIEW: Highland's shares trade at a measly nine times consensus forecasts, but given the geological and metallurgical challenges at Belaya Gora, there is some operational uncertainty ahead. The shares, which have almost tripled in value since we first recommended buying 17 months ago, are worth holding for the excellent dividend. Hold.

A little harsh, I was buying here in the 20's and 30's, but have
also just bought a little more. xd date 6.10.16 and a break of
147p, the chart looks fantastic, rsi has plenty of upside also.

Looking good again, great dividend.
aaz similar currency devaluation just not as liquid as hgm is worth a look.
It went down due to a forced seller but looks very good now, it's one of those stocks that will only get noticed once it hits then leader board.

It should have increased to 150 on the back of those results, and be on a steady climb to 200...

blimey - Less then two years ago I picked up my HGM for less then 40p per share. If the yearly dividend comes out at 10p means a dividend yield for me of over 25%.

DD,
All my HGM shares were free carried in mid August. Only too happy to open 5 new positions on the drop. I really welcome the sort of volatility that stocks like HGM and CEY have in the PM space. The same cash can go round and round generating free shares on each cycle - so embrace the opportunities offered by the traders.

w/e 2/9/16 it was possible to buy HGM as low as 105.75. So plenty of short-term profit available for the City trading desks - particularly if they were leveraged via CFDs.

So, overall, not surprising to see profit taking now that results are out.

The city traders have jobs that depend upon short-term results so there is a lot of day-trading activity in a stock like HGM. But therein lies our opportunity!!

Great results, as expected!

Average spot price has moved up to US$1,335/oz over 3Q (around US$100/oz higher than 1H) and looks set to remain buoyant over 4Q, so full year results should be even better.

Increased dividend is a real positive and sets HGM apart from most gold producers.
