If I had millions of shares to sell, I'd talk to the bidder and try to negotiate an early sale at 300p, I wouldn't dump them at 292 or 293 if I could help it.

I'm disappointed, though not really surprised, that Giles Hargreave has bitten the bullet. If he thinks it's not worth holding on then there's probably not much hope.

RE hhl

Can someone explain the latest couple of rns's?

First one states sales and owning 700000.
The next more sales and they control 4m plus.

Yes all over, 300p it is as the deal will probably
be settled by the potential results date.

Denalot Worldwide down from 7.13% (25,950,893) to 2.87% (10,434,227)

This is the third major institutional share holder to be heavily reducing.

I like the idea of getting a dividend, but I don't see them giving us any presents. I note Denalot has reduced - IIRC that's Abramovich or one of his friends, and since they've promised their shares to the buyer, they must have started the transfer process. Would they really give us a dividend and not Mr A? I may have a lot of the details wrong, I'm relying on memory, but I'm not optimistic. I wish I'd taken 310 the other day, it really grates to be offered 295 now.

No, the deal falls through if they don't get 50%, and they're already over 40%. What they need 75% for, aiui, is to delist. 90% and they can force remaining holders to sell.

Already in both you mention. Is it true that if 25% refuse to sell then the deal is bust? If so I will refuse for badness, why should I accept being shafted because the Bod is selling on the cheap to their friends?

Alas I agree SR- Endeavour tried to stitch CEY recently, but thank goodness a successul block (OK, completely different scenario)- they knew what they were trying to get, and then had the gall to say takeover was not successful due to CEY dragging, and not that the price @~125 was ridiculously low! Gold seems to attract many sharks, and I guess Russian goldies more... all the best and see you other boards although I will keep watching and commenting here as you never know, stranger things have happened than this falling through...

Thank you, the timing of the approach was a masterstroke if I like
it or not, as the gold price was spiking, the eyewateringly good results
and dividend getting closer and the 320p chart breakout and blue sky was
upon us, the 300p landed.

Yes z that is why they have the billions.

CEY and HOC have bigger % rises than POLY today anyway .

Best of luck SR (and this is not sarcastic)- for years we’ve commented here in one another’s post and you always said a buy out was the cards- but not like this- you and many others who were long deserve so much more

A lot of people will lose some of their £3 to CGT as well. Don't Abramovich and his chums have enough yachts, without nicking our vespas out from under us?

I wonder what % is held by disgruntled PIs. If over 25% refuse to sell they can't delist. Most probably won't feel it's worth holding on for a battle though. I'll be interested to see if Hargreave Hale throw in the towel.

I hold poly from 600p and ggp from 1.2p and up.

Please no need to swear is there.

Poly up 90p, 4%.

We would be well north of 320p now.

Edit

Now poly up 5%.

breaktwister,
why not sell in market and get into one of the uptrending gold stocks like CEY and HOC ? I trade shares with a CFD and does not tie up your capital

I'm watching the price of gold this morning and spitting teeth. Is it unrealistic to think there's any case for suing?

It said q4 2020 somewhere, so Christmas I'm guessing. Bit annoying. My last buy in was at 295...
I guess it means you can buy now for a guaranteed (?!?) 3-4% ish, which in the grand scheme of things isn't bad for a four or five month period,
