US recovery Fri, Asia down overnight due to trade wars etc- ftse flat (phew) didn't follow Asia- FTSE should climb today despite Asia, be interesting on USA later, again I feel this should go up, and then Asia recovers tomorrow.
Gold doing well, and when ftse goes up over next few days, hgm will too.
We shall see...
I don't see any recession yet, and have always stated my position for a long time on this bulletin board- I work in 6 months horizons. Have read countless "spouts" on bulletin board of crash is here, but we can all go with our own judgments as now one really knows...

The share price seems pincered between the sma200 and sma150. The sma50 is creeping up and should firm up the bottom....oooh matron.

Wil be an interesting couple of days for sure- some winners, some losers for my shorts- HGM is one of my very few long termers, but I still can't kick the habit of watching daily(maybe I should remove from my dashboard!)... fingers crossed for today. Of equal interest will be the FED over the coming months, will they ease the tightening or hint at it, or will they see this like the blip in Q1 this year... time will tell- some good bargains out there, but it's always hard to know where the bottoms will be...

Don't want another drop to the mid 120's again- the FTSE is down every day, the pound is stronger with Brexit looking better which pulls the ftse down too- still need a weaker dollar against other currencies to assist gold which is still doing nothing... US stocks getting hit today too.

Loganair- Amazon had, and now have, the biggest competition of all companies! They were retail and still, the media space, and the cloud space, they are the one of the biggest, most competed against company around.

Agree Tesla are small compared to Ford etc, but they are disrupters and innovators primarily unlike those you listed- I'm surprised they haven't already been purchased, but now are way big for what they do.

Be interesting to see what happens now- a good buy at the moment.

Back to HGM- OK so far today despite FTSE again going down, and gold not doing great despite non-farm miss- I still hold to a strategy that the dollar will weaken and know I've been saying this for a while this year and it's yet to happen- a further miss on data could cease the FED from hiking, they will be paranoid that too much tightening could cause a US prob... and of course the mid-terms coming around...

I guess HGM corporate isn't busy enough and they thought someone might notice that they spend most of their time shuffling paper around.

I wonder what the idea is behind all this "branding" stuff. HGM used to be concentrated on its day job. The basic website was part of the charm. I'm a tiny bit disconcerted.

TESLA are tiny compared to the likes of BMW, Volkswagen, GM, Ford or Toyota.

I think you can not compare Tesla to the likes of Microsoft, being a cash intensive company Tesla burns through huge amount of cash when Microsoft was running out of a garage.

Amazon had far less competition then Tesla does and what competition amazon had was from far smaller and weaker companies then the competition Tesla is competing with.

Hmmmm, I think Tesla will be around- people said the same about Microsoft, Amazon, (fever tree although relatively new) etc... TESLA are huge. Leading innovation companies normally get bought out and either "killed off" as their competing technically is perceived as too much as a threat to a large company, but this has to happen when they are new and the cost is low.

I doubt very much Tesla will be around as an independent company in 10 years time as the big car companies, BMW, Volkswagen, GM, Ford, Toyota etc are pouring billions into electric vehicles. These companies have the size and profit to be able to do so while Tesla is still massively loss making, losing some where around $1bln per quarter.

Hi Loganair i completely agree and i apologise to the bb i was just furious at woodwark personal attack on me for suggesting the market may tank.
It is something imo that might happen especially if Tesla goes under.
