20/3/2004 00:45 | nod, just tell us b4 you go selling those pref.... Prefs. in my view are the most 'dangerous' for HST for the ordinary holder like myself. Apart from silly loosers and trigger happy pref nothing will make this go enywhere but up..... | andonis
19/3/2004 21:22 | Someone passing by this evening may view today as a sell-off but volume was very low given rise yesterday and represented £16k of trades. I hold both ords and prefs and, although I could sell for a handsome profit, I'll run these as events are looking positive... and what can be luckier than a horseshoe? The future is looking more secure than at any time since 2001. The contract with Bennett looks good - best to leave production to others. The offer may be Bennett coming back to acquire EAs 63 retail outlets and catalogue sales. If it's not Bennetts then a move by a third party may stir Bennetts' investor (Heritage Partners) into a bid. With such a large contract with HST they may be concerned if EA were to change hands. Last year Heritage stated its intention to build Bennett through acquisition. This from 4-Feb: "Heritage Partners' Bennett Footwear Group Announces Pending Acquisition of Intershoe, Inc. Bennett to Acquire Several Brands Including the Well-Known Via Spiga Line" | nod
19/3/2004 17:27 | I think every thread should have a set of postings as to what not to do when a bid is near, and how to deal with tricks of the MMs....and not become a looser! | andonis
19/3/2004 17:13 | Ahhhhhhh THANK YOU THANK YOU for lowering the price .. I am so HAPPY cause I can beef up for another SURE CUT.... We NEED people like that snow1 we really do. Can you imagine if we had no loosers? Hehehehehe... i am so happy..... | andonis
19/3/2004 16:24 | Just like to thank those people who lost patience and sold today so that I could pick up some more at a bargain price. With bid for company in and being considered it can mean only two things: 1) Bid is being considered as at acceptable level - which must be 3p+ or would have been rejected straight off. 2) Someone values this company at more than 3p and they wouldn't offer money to buy it out if it wasn't worth a lot more than this. Both are good reasons for accumulating at these levels - not selling. Keep up the good selling work while I accumulate some more stock as once the bid price comes out it won't matter if they accept or reject it as it will set a price for this stock to move up to and then beyond. | smow1

19/3/2004 13:27 | Kamlani, I dont really understand your point of view - when things start to move it will be too late to get in again..the only thing to cause a movement will be the declaration of a bid, with the bid amount - and the price will be marked up immediately. The movement is caused (I believe) by people who bought at the 1p levels who have doubled their money and are content to take it and move on elsewhere. We must remember that they were at the 1p mark for the entirety of last year so it will be welcome relief for many. Patience is required to wait for the bid to be announced and then sell - it is still my belief, given the positive views of the management and the recovery underway in US business levels that the offer will come in at the 3.5-4p level...which is still approaching a 100% gain from current prices. IMHO of course. | sportbilly1976
19/3/2004 13:27 | Down 10%. Tut. | farsight
19/3/2004 12:10 | I'm out of this one offer keeps dropping down to 2.09 now will get in if it starts to move.good luck all. | kamlani
19/3/2004 11:10 | For discussion: Let us assume the deal is off. I think the company benefits anyway. Looking ahead following this scenario, I am not clear on the pref holders risk. Do you have any thoughts on this? 2005 is not that far off | andonis
19/3/2004 10:00 | Looking at the year chart above i would be expecting any bid less than 4p to be turned down by the board as not representing fair value - giventhat they see the business growing substantially this year, it should be the minimum put forward. | sportbilly1976
19/3/2004 08:18 | Pill look at dtc for a bounce | kamlani
