What's the deal with Goldman Sachs?
Can CFDs confer voting rights? depending on how the contract is drafted?
I see they also have enough shares to influence the share price and that they decreased in the last RNS - yet the CFD voting rights increased.
They will also have an offsetting short CFD position which they don't have to declare. As they have voting rights with their CFDs, I'm guessing they will also be entitled to buy the shares upon expiry - should they want to. I've no doubt they are the drag on the share price

so we had weeks of 'prepare to lose' or daily 'oil plunging' on 0.1% moves etc and now that PMO rises we are told you sold up and moving on . lol . Given that I see the positive side of things and at least the 'moving on' part makes me smile .
Do yourself a favour and look at what SETS is so as to then review your MM understanding lol ! Knowledge is power .
Premier Oil trades on SETS , mate... Best of luck

Sold up and moving on. Don't want to be holding after having made a very good profit having bought circa 110k shares at 64p. Held through the ST report and almost saw all my profit disappear. The same won't happen again. GL to all that continue to hold.

I also hold ENQ (through the RI) and took them up - every part of me said to sell up before paying for the rights allocation as I have seen it several times before but for some reason thought this would be better, would be good - but as with every other time they dropped right back...

That's why I am in ENQ. I would have preferred PMO due to zama, Tolmount sea lion and catcher but one is a bit nervous they will spring a RI, even if any NS deal could be good for PMO medium term. I figure ENQ has got its RI out of the way in Sept 18. Of course, RI may never happen here, but one has to factor in it as a possible eventuality

The ST article does still worry me as any rights issue firstly I couldn't afford and secondly I would see the usual insider info getting out as the institutions are approached and the associated short selling to get offer prices down (fekking criminal barstuards that they all are).... a small bit of financing for the correct field / asset is fine by me...

I am very confident going forward that Sealion will be sanctioned later this year, remember they have $1.6m requirement for first oil/phase 1.

Of that I recall that $700m to $800m is gonna be senior debt with UKEF backing, $300m to $400m in loan notes and $400m to $500m supplier partnerships. I think that the FEED must be pretty much complete, I assume that the only lending left to sort out will be the UKEF backed senior debt which may take a bit of time yet due to distractions from brexit - my assumption is that an update will be given with tighter timescales in the full results in a few weeks time.

The longer sealion takes for FID (as long as it is this year) the better in some ways - I just think that the FCF amassing will help in so many ways - just think if we were a year on and that extra $500m was knocked off the debt....

Kai I never had a short position. I have always been long and in case the MM's read these bb's I tried a different tactic and started to post negatively hoping for the opposite to happen. And it has! I am a very happy chappy right now. I am considering selling having made a 25 percent profit as I don't want to wake up to a RI RNS which will wipe out my circa 20k gain!

Any potential buyer of PMO would have an easy task to do to get most holders to say yes to 100p. If POO continues its rise the price may need to be set a small bit higher but 140 is just dreaming.

The fekkers should be outlawed... there are few things in life that I can say I actually despise and one are these kind of outfits, cant knock em for making a buck or two by using initiative its just the principle I have always hated and the fact it is allowed/permitted.
Simply put you shouldn't be able to sell something you don't own! Simple

Looks like we have a 'newish' shorter in town just popped over the .50% threshold - Voleon Capital Management. Primary targets are Premier and Cairn. Another machine learning American shorting outfit similar to AHL ;)

End of year results two weeks this Thursday. Might seem like a long way off to some but you need to be ahead of the game. Importantly the update on 10th of Jan said "Estimated" when talking about the reduction in debt. When estimating it pays to be conservative so the reduction may be better than "estimated". If and when (no reason to think otherwise) the word "estimated" is removed, possibly improved and with the higher oil price,,,,,. All things pointing in the right direction for PMO.

Adg - for the avoidance of doubt, I am an LTH looking for an exit. That may change at any point, but at time of writing, it holds true.

From that perspective, any form of capital raise or increase in debt which impairs the short term performance of the share price is a negative.

From a long term perspective, yes, acquiring more assets in the North Sea is essential to adding value to the company, but even more than that, adding the right assets to the portfolio is critical.

Eon was a masterstroke, I think TDs own words were "the gift that keeps giving". But what that says to me is that it was good fortune that it worked out so well. Even if I was planning to hold for another 5 years, I would be very cautious about expecting a wholesale acquisition in a bid against INEOS and Chrysoar to be anywhere near as lucrative as the EON deal was; simply put, if there was really that much profit to be made, either of those two could outbid PMO and buy us too for those delicious tax losses.

I'm in agreement with you that a small and selective acquisition of producing assets would be nice to have. But I would only be comfortable with it if it could be funded entirely from less than six months of free cash flow.

Question to the normal folks (gimps, pillocks, windylickers excluded from answering)
What are your thoughts on PMO actually doing some form of fundraising for North Sea asset purchase from the likes of chevron, Conoco Philips, total etc. ?
I see the rationale but the implications to the share price would be I strongly feel disastrous with the only winners being the money-men in the short term.
The EON purchase was a masterstroke as I think everybody agrees - a selective purchase for a few £m would be fine its the worry of the big dilutive asset grab that worries me, and the fact that they didn't really rebuff the times article very strongly and share price is just where we were then with POO probably 20% higher!
No smoke without fire and all that....
