4 March 2014 Wellington Market Company plc ("Wellington" or "the Company") 10 Year Contract for Shepherds Bush Market Wellington Market Company PLC, under its wholly-owned subsidiary Activate Assets Ltd, has today announced that, following several months of consultancy work with Orion Shepherds Bush (Market) Ltd - Activate Assets Ltd has been awarded a ten-year contract to provide facilities management and market operation for London's historic Shepherds Bush Market. The market site, which is currently undergoing a circa £150-million redevelopment, will be totally transformed and incorporate an extensive residential component. The contract, which commenced on the 26th February 2014, will see the Company introduce its own brand of cutting-edge retail and events that will attract visitors - perfectly complementing that of the neighbouring Westfield site, The Village London. This contract further underpins Wellington Market Company's successful strategy that has reduced its dependence on the operation of traditional street markets, by expanding its activities into the provision of retail asset management and consultancy services. This appointment and other successes at high-profile sites - such as Old Spitalfields Market - has firmly placed the Company in the spotlight and should lead to further engagement with local authorities and developers. The Directors of the Company accept responsibility for the announcement. For further information please contact: Wellington Market Company Plc.
