                Confirmation of Board changes at Gyrus Group PLC


Reading, UK - Gyrus Group (GYG.L) a leading supplier of medical devices to
reduce trauma and complications in surgery, today confirms that the changes to
its Board of Directors that were announced in detail in September, 2003 have
taken effect as follows:


Simon Shaw has been appointed to the Board with effect from 1 January 2004.
Also with effect from 1 January, Tom Murphy resigns as Finance Director to
return to the US to take up his new appointment within the Group as President of
Gyrus Medical Inc. Tom Murphy has served as group Finance Director since 2001
and during his tenure has played a key role in the development of Gyrus through
the acquisition of a number of businesses and the day-to-day financial
management of the Group.


Simon Shaw, aged 38, joined Gyrus on 1 October, 2003 as Chief Financial Officer.
He has financial and management experience gained both in the City and Industry.
His last post was Chief Operating Officer of  Profile Therapeutics plc a medical
devices business, which he joined in 1997 and was responsible for its flotation
in 2000. Prior to that he was a corporate financier with Hambros Bank Limited,
and previously WestLB, where he advised on flotations, fund raisings and
international mergers and acquisitions. He qualified as a Chartered Accountant
with Arthur Andersen & Co. in 1990.


Simon Shaw was a director of Profile Therapeutics plc, from July 1997 to April
2003.  Gyrus can advise that there are no further details relating to the
appointment of Simon Shaw which it is obliged to disclose under paragraph 6.F.2.
(b-g) of the Listing Rules of the UK Listing Authority.
