17/10/2017 11:48 | Agree, or move in for 888, whilst everyone's attention is elsewhere. | srpactive
17/10/2017 11:38 | Great, keep making a bundle of cash in the meantime and shoot it back to us as specials! | noujay
17/10/2017 11:25 | Those in favour of a deal after the review is published may have a long wait. Extract from the Times "City People" column today: Don’t bet on quick result Campaigners hoping for an early cut to the £100 maximum stake on fixed-odds betting terminals should rein in their expectations on timing. Karen Bradley, culture secretary, has decided that the findings of the triennial review of gaming machines, to be announced soon, will be subject to a 12-week consultation. After that, it is likely to take the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and the Treasury until spring to agree on the scale of the stake cut. Throw in the required secondary legislation plus a grace period to give the bookies time to change machines and the chances are that implementation will be at the end of next year, at the earliest. | grahamburn
17/10/2017 10:30 | Good posts this morning, I reckon if KA is going to go for lcl, it will be at a very good price for him and a white horse saviour for lcl, my approach price is 80p, dyor. | srpactive
17/10/2017 10:19 | Hills share price is holding up without the bid rumours but is still off its highs of course on these concerns. LADs has some bid premium in there I agree but GVC may bid for LADS whatever the outcome with only the price changing. A £2 stake would not be as bad as some are suggesting. Either way, GVC could end up winners - almost the worst case would be no change to the stakes and then GVC overpay only to be hit by regulation in a few years time | trentendboy
17/10/2017 08:58 | Those who think the affect of a negative review on the LCL share price is already built in, I think have it wrong. The share price is being held up by the possibility of a bid from GVC. If GVC walk away, for whatever reason, then LCL will fall sharply, IMO to below 100p. The talk of a £3.5 billion bid is just pie in the sky, with LCL currently valued at under £2.5 billion. Just checked GVC's mkt cap which at £2.675 billion is about £200 million greater than LCL. So, hardly the minnow attempting to gobble up the pike! | mylands
17/10/2017 07:11 | A negative outcome is already built into the price for LADs.They are expecting 2 quid a spin. If it comes in at ten you might be surprised and see an increase in LADS share price It is all about expectations and positions already takenI am expecting 2 quid but am not shorting LADS. Fest suggests a short could make a lot of moneyNot so sure and certainly not shorting Hills and Lads. | trentendboy
16/10/2017 22:55 | The price of LCL cannot be nearer 50p than its current price once this review is announced. The result will be already partly known and if that was likely to materially effect the share price of Ladbrokes then we would not be seeing it hold up so well. It is a shame that the timing is as it is but I would have preferred to have seen this expected T/O -Merger to have come about in 12 months time. | radbrooks
16/10/2017 22:51 | Loganair, that's your opinion. But I can't see how a business can lose 40% of its revenue yet sustain 100% of its costs and not get demolished.Time will tell, and Sir Kenneth will swoop. | festario
16/10/2017 19:34 | Fest - If the FOTB comes in the region of £10 then I see LADS price being between 100p and 125p, the price it is to day. | loganair
16/10/2017 17:57 | Not long to find out at least. If GVC could get it at anything like that price it would seem a bargain for that brand and customer base. See what the review throws up.. | noujay
16/10/2017 17:22 | I'll say this for the last time, 'IF' the FOTB review forces the maximum stake to be in the region of £10, then LADS share price will be nearer to 50p than 130p.Remember the word 'nearer' | festario
16/10/2017 17:15 | Fest, if that price is for the sake of argument 50p then the Lads capitalisation will be under £1B and whilst I can see it getting hit, that would just seem too much! | noujay
16/10/2017 16:33 | Precisely what I've been saying Rog, and that price will be nearer 50p than 130p | festario
16/10/2017 15:28 | They will have agreed a deal on everything but price. That will be concluded after the results of the enquiry and see what it does to both the Lads bottom line and the share price | oohrogerpalmer
16/10/2017 15:11 | Reading the report in more detail, it's certainly clear that with such a minimal UK presence in relation to so many other operators that once the dust settles on the review and the forthcoming budget, and assuming that FOBT's are hit as well as an increase in point of consumption taxes, GVC will be in a marvellous position to make acquisitions. What I can't understand is why they have reached a figure for Lads prior to these events. Unless of course they figure that these factors are already priced. | noujay
16/10/2017 12:21 | Nice thorough report thanks for bringing it up. Seems to me that GVC and Playtech are the clear ones to sit tight with now. | noujay
16/10/2017 11:14 | Edison's just issued an 18 page report on the UK Gaming Sector..it talks up the prospects of M & A across the sector | mirabeau
16/10/2017 10:24 | "The review was due to be published in the summer but will now not come out until the end of October at the earliest."HTTPS://ww | speedsgh
16/10/2017 10:01 | Nothing specific, but I read October at the earliest. | woodhawk
16/10/2017 09:04 | Noujay, thks. | mylands
16/10/2017 08:44 | Just that it's due October, I'm not sure there's been anything more precise mentioned | noujay
16/10/2017 08:33 | Has anyone heard news on the actual announcement date for the government review of gambling? The last I heard was October. We are now over half-way through the month, and nothing announced. Has it been pushed back beyond this month? | mylands
15/10/2017 10:09 | I agree Trentboy.Another exciting year ahead here. | coxsmn |
