Lighten up man, this thread is meant to be both informative and fun. That's what I like about it.

Wake up Festario, the vast majority of people on these boards are traders - despite what they might claim otherwise. Why else do they spend day in day out here? Your imagined 3% is more like 4% from, say, 709p anyway - and if you went short down and longed it back up you could make circa 8% for arguements sake. And repeat as the opportunity arises while it's rangebound. So get real.

Christ Woodhawk, that's rich coming from you.No doubt you sold a million shares at 708p on Monday and you bought them all back at 697p today.Or have I spoiled your enlightening announcement that we were all just dying to hear?Mylands, you are correct as always, it will hit those levels, when the time is right, but the market makers can't resist dragging it up and down either side of that trend line can they?

"It's only 3% so no real advantage in anyone trading it." You really do make some ridiculous statements, Festario.

I would be mighty surprised, but then I have been surprised by the market before, were this to fall to 680p with the inclusion in the 250 around the corner and the half year results out on September 20th. 780p more likely!

There might be a slight correction under way as usual, no, as always back to the underlying trend line. The monkeys might be selling it down to approx 680 before the next strong bounce. It's only 3% so no real advantage in anyone trading it.

I'm a holder of Watkin Jones. Know of them via my day job. First rate company and I'm confident they will outperform the general sector in which they operate, student accomodation.

srp/woodhawk - or even better exposure via one or more of the REITs/commercial property investment trusts e.g. primary PCTN SLI UKCM FCPT SREI regional/secondary RGL CREI EPIC. Exposure to more specific niches also possible e.g. healthcare PHP MXF big box logistics BBOX LMP. all offer decent income with hopefully slowly appreciating capital over long term. DYOR aimho.

Nail on the head. Regarding property to much regulation
and government interference, keep well clear of
that industry. If you want exposure to hmo, buy Watkin Jones.

The important point about the word we live in is keeping your
money as liquid as possible.

Apart from gambling and property, there are few options for making money from your savings for next few years - apart from stocks'n'shares of course. Several of my friends now starting to get into the market and/or convert their maturing cash ISAs into stocks'n'shares ISAs. I reckon they'll be more and more money coming into the market as interest rates get nearer to zero (or lower!!). All good for share prices in general. Reliable divi payers (like GVC) will be at a premium imo.

Spot on sogoesit, the remainder of the EU wll be wishing they'd done a Brexit when the EU implodes. More and more people realising what a disater the EU is.

Topped up again yesterday on GVC, a long way to go yet in my opinion, for all the reasons allready mentioned by the long term contributers.

Don't worry guys. Everyone mistakenly thought Brexit occurred on 24 June 2016 when, in reality, it may only occur in 2019/2020. The market has realised that after a few weeks of fear/hype and media misinformation.
That leaves a few years to make more money, to have high immigration from EUers leaving their sinking ships to boost GDP in our economy, keep driving-up property prices etc. etc.
But you are right, France, German elections next year, Italian referendum in October this year, re-run of rigged Austrian presidential election in November all makes UK look a safe haven!
When the EU collapses in its own heap of chaos, starting with the Italian banks and with 50% of its unemployed youth working in UK "labour camps" the UK will look like paradise on earth post Brexit!

Me too, in the Remain camp. Watching the three principal leaders in the EU speak yesterday about their commitment to a unified Europe gives a hint, if it was needed, of how difficult the negotiations will be when we trigger Article 50. With their own 'UKIPs' on the rise and elections coming up they won't want to be seen giving the UK a good deal, in fact the opposite IMO. Tough times ahead which, in my view, the market has NOT taken into account. Let's hope I'm wrong.

Have others been watching the stellar rise in Ladbroke's sp? From a low of just over 100p in late June it has risen to 161p today. I was waiting to buy at sub 100p, which it never quite reached. A shame when I consider the 60% rise that has taken place in under two months.

I do like to do a bit of freelance work every now and again - to keep my hand in - and need a break from trading! I must say, though I am firmly in the 'Remain' camp, I've had my most profitable period ever in the market over the last six weeks - even better than the lunatic days of the tech boom!!

I want to correct your statement where you end 'atm', you should have said 'a great company to be in ever since Kenny took the helm'!
