Yes. SEY is controlled by the same shareholders as GPX (Waterfords and friends). Former oilman Beardsall was key director at both and has now gone from both, signalling (to me at least) that Waterfords want to conserve SEY's cash. It seems almost a no brainer that the cheapest and quickest cash for GPX to access when they need to restart production - and they will need plenty of cash - is the cash at SEY. How they will do it (takeover, merger, loan etc) I have no idea. But if they have SEY's cash to start with they will have a much stronger hand to go out for more funding, which they will certainly need, on more favourable terms - hopefully for us as loans and not diluting the shareholders.

Slowracer, good afternoon ! You posted an observation GPX owners linked to SEY. Can you provide more detail please.

On 20th January 2017 SEY appointed a new Chairman plus two new directors. All representatives of SEY's biggest shareholders.

The previous directors withdrew from Kurdistan in 2013 after disappointing 2D seismic results.

SEY are looking for investment opportunities. Are you thinking perhaps GPX ?

Theresa May discusses peace in Syria with Turkish PM Yildirim yesterday in Istanbul enroute back to UK from meeting with Trump on Friday. Also, note UN Helsinki mtng on 24 th Jan whereby an appeal for US $ 6.3 billion is launched to assist Syria and EU countries supporting refugees.

Shujja1 SEY est. to have US $ 47 mill by mid-2017 if they drill the intended well. Currently I believe approx. US $ 92 mill. If they were to move into M & A mode then SDX might perhaps be perceived as being too high risk. I'd dearly like to see that happen though thus avoiding shareholder dilution due to probable equity raise.

GPX owners also control SEY and SEY has $90M of cash and nothing much to do with it. Maybe they will access that cash before they have to go to the market again.

Key to GPX are the EU sanctions being lifted, it seems this is also moving forward at a good rate. There is a joint EU/UN conference planned for the Spring in Brussels to:- European Union, together with the United Nations, will host an international conference on the future of Syria and of the region, next Spring in Brussels. It will be first and foremost a political meeting, to try and bring to an end these dramatic six years of war, and to open a new chapter of transition and reconstruction. But it will also be an opportunity to strengthen our support to an exhausted population, inside and outside Syria’s borders. No one invests as much as Europe does to support Syrians, and this is not bound to change: this fact, together with our non-engagement in the military conflict, gives us credibility. And we are ready to spend our credibility to facilitate a political solution to the crisis. hxxp://www.federicamogherini.net/syria-conference/?lang=en I feel if the ceasefire can hold out through these tricky, early stages, which the signs are that it will, we could just be round the corner from sanctions being lifted - this will go hand in hand with a 'political solution to the crisis
