I do remember seeing the Head of GSK on some panel with government on talks concerning new Brexit deals. So quite possibly some associated NI border negotiation talks will be good for GSK.

Because they need more time to get evidence together to hang GSK out to dry plus longer it goes on the more nervous investors will be . If it was a cut and dry GSK win it would have started this Monday

Most pharmaceutical companies receive such letters suggesting something has gone wrong with their treatment.

However, most are quickly and efficiently rejected with very few being settled.

I'm waiting for the rally after the court case even though it's in the US where odd judgements are sometimes given.

At the time there was a lot of debate around the possible use of bismuth citrate, the impact of helicobacter pylori and even a spat around proton-pump inhibitors if I remember. Complex.
One thing is for sure the lawyers will do well out of all this........

A friend of ours worked at Sky in their in house legal team (paid a massive salary btw). They had a constant flow of court cases, threats, settlements. Now this was for Murdoch, so you'd expect plenty. But I bet the Glaxo legal team have similar workload. Mainly sponsored chancers who intend to cause time and effort and court cases in an attempt to get them to settle and save the cost and hassle. If they go to court, Glaxo will assess as a pretty solid win (as far as you can in court).

The good thing is, if/when this is thrown out/aborted, Glaxo will rally.

So if we assume some sort of constant rate of DNA change, then if we live longer, we'll get more mutations. And eventually everyone will get cancer. As long as whatever we've done doesn't affect how quickly we build up DNA changes, that is.

With the stat that is it 1 in 2 people may get cancer... out there how could you tell if its due to Zantac or you would of got it anyway...

I think the claimants try to throw as much mud at Zantac before the trial (press coverage etc) in the hope enough sticks for trial to progress.
Once trial starts (if it does) I expect the zantac people will be able to disprove most of it or all of it.

To start with all Zantac people will be doing is saying drug was approved and there is no real evidence to state anyone's cancer has been caused by the drug.

I suspect the incidence of people getting cancer (with the complaints that caused them to take the tablet in the first place ) will prove to be the same or less than people with the same complaint who did not take the drug.

Indeed, since zantac has come off the market the incidence of cancer in the world has risen dramatically.

Anyway, whatever...
