The British pharma major posted net profit of GBP1.50 billion, up from GBP749 million the year prior, on sales which rose to GBP7.38 billion. Operating profit and earnings per share beat analysts' expectations, coming in at GBP1.87 billion and 36.5 pence, respectively. Analysts had forecast operating profit to be GBP1.49 billion and EPS at 21.2 pence.
