Gary - I sold my entire holding at 1713p at the end of June, but was missing the excitement, so I progressively bought back in with many purchases on the way down! (Last purchase was yesterday at 1546.76. It is the dividend security beyond 2018 that is my main concern).

I will only sell to recover my stake(s) - that may take 2 years - I don't expect to see 2050p anywhere soon!

TM,Jump Ship to where atm.Cash ? If so you should have done it around £17.Did you see after hours the 800k worth of Buys added from earlier in the day.I personal would keep collecting the dividend, and let GSK recover.

The 'plodding' has come to an end - the measures announced yesterday suggest that the company can see an iceberg across the water and is desperately attempting to avoid sinking.

The jettison of a large number of development programs means that the company is staking all on a rescue by a blockbuster arriving from a reduced number of therapeutic areas.

The share price has, after a long voyage, been kept afloat by a bouyant dividend policy which is now altering course.

Without a strong dividend, without a large pipeline of new drugs and without a blockbuster, the appeal for this company is diminishing - I'm thinking of jumping ship ..... ;0(

Yes, but you might as well buy the GSK corporate bond, with no volatility of shareprice going up or down.Buying just for a dividend is not good, what you gain with income you can lose more with capital. Only my view.I'm a trader not a investor.

In truth I kind of like the way this share never gets carried away it just plods along year after year offering relative safety and a juicy yield to boot.

A close below 1560 is a breach of the long term uptrend on a three year chart and probs signals 1475 - shouldn't have closed my short!

Slight reduction in guidance down to initial discounts/vouchers
planned for their new duel HIV medication.

GSK offered large discounts on launch of their newer respiratory products,
which now looks to be paying off nicely in the US market.

Looks like a £10bn movement from non-current to current liabilities. That is some movement; don't have time to read through the gumpf. Impact on cash flow???

Yes, dividend growth is a possibility, but the new announcement also heralds an end to the era of a secure 80p pa, and also allows for justifiable dividend reduction ..... its a 2-edged sword ..... ;0)
