I said never because with a dividend of 6.5% and a price of 1250p, GSK has to be a gift*...... ;0)

* As Pfizer et al will soon demonstrate...
*Notwithstanding a massive pipeline of late stage APIs

Noticed the ADR price, huge pop at the open for the UKX on the way.

I think if it continually hit 1300 and bounced off it then i would be concerned but that hasn't happened yet...so its wait and see on my part

May have a nice bounce tomorrow unless China sells off hard yet again overnight.

Ei I understand gsk defensive properties and would be bullish if the share price bounced off support. On Tuesdays rally gsk was a sluggish performer and given its under 1300 I was expecting more. Imo there seems no appetite to stay in range and therefore I'm concerned this will fall. Just my opinion

Mark unfortunately I don't have your TA skills, so just attempt to
buy when something looks reasonable, if markets plunge then it tends
to take the good bad and ugly with it, without discriminating.

There once was a time(might be before your time) when Glaxo
significantly outperformed on risk off days.
With HFT and internationalisation that no longer tends to happen.

Have traded RDSB twice already today and DGE once.

Yes but major support seems to have gone. This is worrying. It's struggling like mad to keep to 1300 but keeps slipping back. I'm without position but tempted to go short here. Just saying what I see

cyberian, mentioned the same point previously so agree.
Witty will be validated on a volume strategy, rather than paying
huge amounts for very specialist treatment areas, watch some of the
froth being blown off biotech on any sustained market correction.

The shift in strategy by Witty and the GSK Board may well prove a smart move earlier than forecast, with cost cutting and a strong pipeline. There is one key medical product review due early in September and the R&D open day in November is eagerly awaited by analysts.

Do not think it will go as Low as 1250 again, but who knows in these Crazy Markets. But looking with a long term view, looks cheap and could go to 1650 when the FTSE recovers. Possible recovery 17% on the FTSE, which equates to £15 for GSK. Agree with EI,and a must in any Portfolio with a 6.25% Dividend yield at present
