Posted at 20/5/2024 15:36 by pete long term investor Blackhorse overly optimistic. In years when Greencore previously paid a Dividend the payout was 37% of that years profits. Do the maths and I think you will find that comes to 6.72 pence per share. Normally about 33% of that at Interim stage. So based on precedent the maximum Interim to be devlared tomorroe is 2 pence per share. At a bullish yield of 4% that will only boost the share price to £1.50. So still a potential takeover target. I am pessimistic, and expect an Interim Dividenf of 1 pence per share at most, which will depress the share price and probably see a decline to about £1.25. I hope I am wrong, but 20 years as a Greencore investor yends, not unnaturally, to induce pessimism. |
