Considering GWIN has fallen from 26p to here at 1.2p there is plenty of scope to rise say 300%-400% and it will still be a fraction of what it was valued at less than 12 months ago!!

Jaknife - just a flavour of the findings into the conduct of the CEO of London Asia (LDC/LAC) As I say this was written by Keith Negal who took over the company to trace the money in 2009. DB now the director and things are going at a snell's pace. I'll try and find the link when I have time.

6.3 Loan of $5 Million Written Off

Our investigations have uncovered that on 7th September 2005, LAC plc sent $5 million to Nourican Adriatic d.o.o., in Zagreb, Croatia. The transfer document was signed by Mr Simon Littlewood. A signed contract confirms that the loan was to have been secured by a pledge over 25,000 shares in Industrogradnja d.d., but no signed guarantee or pledge has been traced.

The purpose of the loan was to help Nourican Adriatic d.o.o. provide evidence to the Croatian Stock Exchange (Zagrebaka Burza) that cash needed for a bid to be made by two Croatian companies for Industrogradnja was available. LAC was to receive a fee of US$ 1 million for this loan.

The bid for Industrogradnja was launched on 11th November 2005 at a share price of 650 Kuna at a discount to its market price of 810 Kuna. As a result, only 2,640 shares were tendered for at a total cost of $273,244. It appears that the $5 million loan provided by LAC was not used for the bid and should have been returned to LAC in January 2006, together with the $1 million fee.
We can find no evidence that this sum reached LAC, nor is there documentary evidence to show that steps were taken through the courts in any country to recover this money.

The transaction was managed by Mr Simon Littlewood, who has since commented that the “Croatian Mafia” has the outstanding $6 million belonging to LAC shareholders

Its quite well known that even directors of AIM companies ramp their own stock. One or two have been caught out for that. I recall quite an interesting case some years ago where one director was doing that on this site - unaware that the CEO was running off with the loot. Incidentally one of his cronies who assisted in the bulletin board deception is someone well known to Jaknife who often used to be a regular at the High Court pursuing innocent folk for ludicrous sums of money.

Why I don’t buy Chinese stocks on AIM

By Tom Bulford

Sep 18, 2012

Greg Rudd, the brother of the former Australian prime minister, once met a Chinese businessman who gave him some prudent advice.

"You tend to see the good in people, Mr Rudd", he started. "People like you. You laugh a lot. But you’ll never make money in China with that attitude. You’ll only be taken advantage of. People will trade off you. They won’t pay you. The number one rule of doing business in China is this; never trust a Chinaman. Why would you as a foreigner trust a Chinese businessman when we as Chinese don’t trust each other?"

Now that advice is pretty close to the bone. But I’ve said it before in Penny Sleuth – you have to be very careful when you invest in a Chinese company. The record of AIM-listed Chinese companies is simply awful. And with so many still coming to market, there is a real chance that many private investors will end up making some very expensive mistakes…
