Warm Welcome to Dept. of Health Consultation Document on
Reinbursement of Generic Medicines for the NHS
Goldshield warmly welcomes the consultation document released today by the
Department of Health concerning the reimbursement of generic medicines for the
National Health Service ("NHS").
The document suggests changing the calculation of the drug tariff - the price
the NHS pays for a drug - from being wholesaler-based, to being linked to
manufacturers' prices. The Company believes that this fundamentally addresses
concerns over the pricing of generic medicines in the UK.
