Specto, fair point. Though against that, we've got a discount to assets.

For anyone to be down 50% in anything is quite miserable. Unfortunately GPM has invested in smaller companies which have fallen harder than the big boys. Looking at the charts, 17p does seem to be a capitulation point but personally I am not going to average down at the moment until the US announces it will stop raising interest rates and the dollar starts to fall. Both of these factors heavily influence the gold price.

I'm in at 32p by the way.

@Brucie5 - the issue is less gold etc, it's about GPM's choices within the gold space.

Of course, it's also about hugely disproportionate costs/fees, caused in part by the shrinking market cap. Was over 4% last I looked, ie if everything stayed flat, you'd lose 4% p.a.

I don't hold any ETFs. Only real shares, I'm afraid.

Heres a question
If you were holding a Gold ETF and GPM roughly 50-50..... would you be tempted to sell some or all of the ETF and switch into GPM?

Sorry if I depressed anyone yesterday!
If its any consolation 18p has always been a very good buying signal in the past and POG is rising if anything...... having said that I have said to myself on numerous occasions "surely these cant go any lower"!

If POG can clear $1,250 and stay above it, would that improve things?

The two words I should have listened to were "stop" and "loss ;-) Maybe before I reach 70 this heap of junk will bear some fruit .....nuclear war? World Famine? Trump second term?

My life would be so much better if I had never heard the words "Golden" and "prospects."
Never have two words been joined so incorrectly!!!

I agree why has the NAV slipped so much.....very troubling and thinking of bailing at least part of my position

A port in a storm, when markets are volatile. No, wait - NAV slips under 24p, despite weak £, despite reasonable gold. PoS.

PM shares along with other commodities are still bottoming and it may take another week or two for this to complete. Several underlying holdings of GPM are mostly at or around their lows for the year. I see it as a bargain here that will do well from early next year. It's worth looking at a long term chart to see what happened when GPM last touched these lows in late 2008 and 2015.

Looks like capitulation today. And tomorrow?

What usually happens with gold and silver is that the great majority always get it wrong. There's a large number of people who think gold will fall to $1140 and some think it will go lower than that. Very few think we are around the bottom with an undercut in the miners here. There's some work left to do with the GPM share price before Christmas but there's no reason to dismiss several weeks consolidation around here and a good rise across the sector and GPM's holdings after that.

The Dollar is key. The big funds have exploited concerns over Brexit and and other issues within the EU. The trade wars have been an added factor. You either think the Dollar will gain strength or begin to fall around here. i think the Dollar is flaming out here,

Well from a chart perspective this looks like the bottom again - so not a time to be selling. But who knows. I've just got rid of my HOC holding, though it's a quality company, because the chart is suggestive of lower, and it's been much lower before. I also hold FRES, and of course, GPM.

Someone posted a link on HOC bb. suggesting that pms would fall much lower. It's always been a guessing game as to where capitulation lies. Jim Rogers is a secular bull, but says he can't tell over what time scale.
