independence and troy both in top 5 holdings, and both up around 10% in Aus overnight -this should be reflected in NAV announced tomorrow.

Agreed I've been a buyer of GPM since the gold bullish trend started around start of the year.

I expect to be adding and holding for several years. For the record I am bullish on gold and expect the bull trend to last several years.

Looks like the poorer than expected NFP's lit a fire under PMs this session causing gold and silver to rip. Bodes well for GPM. Long and strong here. Good weekend all.

fortuna silver mines (top holding at 8% of fund) is up 10% today - as is the wider junior gold miners index.

I hope you're right about the bear trap. I agree you can't trade this because of the spreads. I came in at 20p in late January based on a belief that Gold Miners had been driven too far down and everything returns to the mean as well a belief that the Central Bank special sauce was losing it's piquancy.

I may well be wrong on both but I'll hang on in there until I get back to my entry price.

It's so much more fun when Mr Market agrees with you.

Looks to have been something of a bear trap? We are still way above trend, and now climbing back somewhat. Spread makes this very difficult to trade sensibly.
