Looking through the trades here in recent weeks, they are out of the ordinary and has a distinct whiff of accumulating imo

Time will tell

I didn't catch it all

They seem to be drilling commitment wells only Peru and Suriname. There is no immediate commitment in Guyana. Still no mention of the oil analysis from Jethro & Joe

When in cost cutting mode and still to get a handle on the asset it doesn't help that the discovered crude is probably of 12° API gravity and c. 5pc sulphur

Obviously has a knock on effect for Eco

Tullow's call seems to have gone down like a lead balloon. I didn't hear it - what's your read?

Majors currently in deep water blocks, which deals a blow for those with relative near shore blocks. Tullow missed in PEL37 & pulled out of PEL30

The game seems to be coming to GBP imo

Tullow just said on investor call that they will integrate the data from 3 wells but is unlikely to drill in Guyana in 2020

Looks like Eco will be focusing on Namibia now, and have cash to drill

From the Maersk link the Voyager currently on contract USD 46.3m for three firm wells including a mobilisation fee .....$15m per well two at least ultra deep water. That is just tick over money

That said we are still at a discount to option money if that were the case ?

Still seems a fair bet to me that the "major" who wanted Namibia data from TRP (and with whom a CA still exists, I assume) is looking at the whole basin, including both the TRP blocks and GBP blocks. They will have most of the current GBP data under CA from the farmout round , save for the new analysis in the late Nov GBP update......so it will ultimately come down to their technical view on how to play it.Both TRP and GBP positions are option money at this point - but that may change when Namibia drilling starts?

That was a fair turn around for TRP this morning and 50m volume already, beats me ?

14 January, 2020

Maersk Drilling selected by Total to drill at world record water depth in Angola-Namibia campaign

Two Angola wells and one Namibia Venus 1 well, plus two, one well options (5wells 240days)

The two option wells are currently ear marked for the Voyager to return to Angola and apply the two options

Potential average of 48 days per well. The Voyager has started drilling and Venus probably be in April, the Cormorant drill was around 20 days dry hole from memory

Possibly the sellers thought this was the usual rise on Friday and thought it was bound to drop today. The old rinse and repeat

Looks quite different this time around, after two solid increases, in tandem with our Walvis Basin neighbours

Fascinating seeing this play out and holding a chunk! TRP has some PI following and the volume looks high. Quite some churn in volume for GBP, in some ways surprising at the number of sales. Hope this is Namibia related, as I held BLVN (luckily exited at a relatively good time) in the past and Cameroon is a mass of delays and bureaucracy.

Counter parties suggest there maybe competition

AEC to present on the 20th. Still a possibility they could do a similar deal to the one they did with Pancontinental (PCL)to get an interest in PEL37, when it was already farmed out. They have a good understanding of the Walvis Basin....now ;-)

Very strange, are we involve here, if so can only be Namibia related ?

JA currently now holds 27% of TRP

It would be strange if TRP had a farmout deal and not GBP, considering the the huge prospects in our blocks. Combined with TRP there would be a very substantial asset for a couple of Majors to share
