Wasted money on all of those expensive buybacks, should have given larger dividends instead.

Looking through the forecasts Divi for 2024 is 18p PS very slightly more than it is now taking exchange rates into consideration, any institutional selling seems to be take up by Private Investors ,the mining sector in general is being hit Glen is at the moment financially sound with fingers in a lot of pies?

One factor weighing on the share price may be the expectation of a lower dividend this year.I'm not sure if GLEN is regarded as an income stock but if so I can imagine that income funds may be reducing their holdings and rotating GLEN out.

"The London-listed miner kept its expectation for 2023 profits from its trading division to come in at $3.5bn, above its long-term guidance range between $2.2 billion and $3.2 billion."

Let's hope it's true!

Has anyone ever met a GLEN buyer? They appear a bit thin on the ground at the moment.

depressing...

Yeah it is depressing when your average is in the 460s. As the guys in cryptospace usually say it's time to 'HODL'

The 400 support area is long standing. So it's critical this holds or we might be going further down. The hope must be we will bounce and head back to the 480 resistance area.I haven't been following GLEN for long, but it seems to me to be a bit boring. But being stodgy can be good, particularly if the share price is at the bottom of the channel. I would prefer a higher dividend, and the expectation for this year seems to be for it to be less than last year..If I have understood correctly then fair value for this share is at least 450-500.So I rate it a Hold unless there is a serious break lower.

Agreed, there's enough swing in the share price on daily basis to make a few bob (or loose if you are too greedy!). And for that, not having the stamp duty makes a big difference.

You're right, it soon adds up, I gone to US stocks no stamp duty. Just keep dollars in account to avoid fx fees. Also much more movement Nasdaq.Must admit, I can't see Glen profits being great, if they pay a special dividend and more buybacks then a big move up, otherwise 385p my call.

Buying non British shares will generally involve paying broker FX fees which are much higher than 0.5%

If you choose to buy UK listed shares who's head office is outside UK (so no stamp duty) then you're limiting your investment universe significantly and so it *may* be a false saving - there's likely better value companies where you'd have to pay stamp.

Buying shares in 2 companies 1 British? Buying 1000 @£54 = £54000 + Stamp Duty £270 . 1 non British 1000 @£54 = £54000 + no stamp duty = £54000 saving £270 per trade no brainier, you COULD trade up to 3 times a day saving £810 ,pluse some non British pay better dividends, this is my take on this
