A lot of positives but suspect the muted response remains the apparent funding gap. 2013 cost of sales at $1309/oz leaves no margin. This figure will clearly come down now given the one offs but i would hazard a guess that, at the current POG and cash balance, c.50% of the $130m required for u/g capex will need to come from external sources. So there will inevitably be some dilution along the way but just a question of how much debt/equity etc.

I think the 20m may well turn out to be one half of a delayed roll-over trade.

Quite a lot of info in the FR. Their production, grade and recovery figures are all trending up and their costs/oz have reduced.

Based on their net operational cash flow they would appear to have underlying costs per tonne milled of c. $50/t. That may further reduce with the Tenge revaluation over 2014.

I make their all-in costs per oz sold at $1,180/oz, although they are reporting $1,309/oz for 2013 after specifically one-off, higher, admin costs incurred.

CPR for the Seki UG is obviously delayed and is now expected some time in Q3.

Commencement of the double shaft sinking is now expected to commence in 2015 and should be completed in 2017.

Kara approval is subject to a tender process and the CPR for that ore body is therefore some time in the future.

Another 28km of UG drilling is ongoing, pushing down towards the ultimate new shafts depths of 1,000m below surface.

It was a surprise to see that they are planning to extend the open pit for another two years. But the better grades at lower levels are presumably shifting the balance in terms of a cost/benefit analysis.

Wondered why there was a muted response to today's RNS....maybe this 20 million was being worked in the background. Might see it move on from here now.

Trades show a 20 million buy and the price has not shifted a cent. At least it has not gone down!

Going to be very interested in the "Outlook" section of the Annual Report.

Got a feeling we've now turned a number of corners.

thanks chip, let's hope they at least give us a clue what they mean by 'early 2014'.

Normally it would be a separate announcement.

I would be surprised if it was included in the AR.

From an RNS on 6 Dec 13
"A full independent Competent Person's Report ("CPR") is currently being prepared by Venmyn Deloitte with publication expected in early 2014"
I suppose if you're very, very generous you could say any time before 30 June is early 2014 and any time after is late 2014, but they're pushing it very close...

It all proves there's no subsitute for some good honest results and a long overdue and long promised update on resources.

Goatherd - who knows, maybe just because it was not the news that was expected. In any case if the CPR is good, today's price movement will be inconsequential compared to the long term.

Is the price drop simply doe to the "buy on rumour sell on news" boys?

The news looked good to me - so why else would the price drop?

sandeels - that is my interpretation!
