13/4/2018 09:13 | Just for the record, 'credit where it's due' as such, the div was correctly paid at IB and on time this time. | jrphoenixw2
13/4/2018 08:33 | I'm like you nico, was with TDW (and satisfied) but have not seen a personal wealth survey to which I would not reply to. My dividend was added early Thursady so no complaints there :-) | sicker
13/4/2018 08:30 | Halifax and HL. Both are about £12 per trade, HL charge £45/year for my ISA, which is peanuuts as it has 3 years' worth in it. About 25% of my portfolio is stuck in Beaufort Securities, so won't see the light of day until September, and will have been raided to cover the receivers' costs. | thamestrader
12/4/2018 21:48 | I used to be TDW now ii. Pile of poo!! Just been posted a survey asking about my Personal wealth etc!!! And I have to POST back the details!!!! | nico9
12/4/2018 19:01 | I use Halifax and HL. Most is in the Halifax as it’s somewhat cheaper for a portfolio of my size. I find them efficient and suitable for most things. HL have more info, but I can’t say it’s worth the extra cost. | dr biotech
12/4/2018 18:58 | Thanks for the various tips^, it's appreciated. I'm with IB as I'm currently non-resident, and they're one of the few better online brokers who don't have a problem coping with ex-pats. I'll finally be 'back 'ome in Blightie' soon and on a permanent basis, and will revisit my choices then. In fact I'll make a file-note of this section of chat for exactly that future reference. Thanks again! | jrphoenixw2
12/4/2018 16:20 | I used all sorts of brokers until I found H-L now I am staying put. One word of warning .... you will pay unlimited and expensive fees if you hold unit trusts. If you stick to Investment trusts and shares it works out at £45 per year but if you hold unit trusts I know of people who are paying hundreds each year. Edit : Fees are variable but capped at £45 but U.T. fees are over and above the cap. | daveofdevon
12/4/2018 16:12 | ianood - Like you I had various accounts with about five brokers and some Inv. Trust saving accounts. It was getting to be a nighmare haha not to mention expensive, one broker used to charge me £70 commision. Neither I or anyone I know has ever worked for HL, and I don't own any HL shares either. I just find them the best. | losos
12/4/2018 15:56 | The Share Centre best for Isa's a lot cheaper than Hargreaves, I believe. Dividend in the account today 8am. | montyhedge
12/4/2018 15:49 | Divs arrived across various accounts first thing this morning. With Hargreaves Lansdown. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. | romeike
12/4/2018 15:38 | I think The Share Centre are very good. | montyhedge
12/4/2018 15:30 | FWIW - AJ Bell are highly efficient and cheap | toffeeman
12/4/2018 14:41 | jrp2 - do take a look at HL's offering. I have nothing but praise for them in all areas - SIPP, ISA and traditional holdings outside of a wrapper. I have now aggregated all my old accounts with 3 or 4 brokerages in to them (receiving a cash incentive which just about covered former broker's costs for the transfers) and find it much easier. I have already B&ISA'd this year's ISA allowance without any charge for the sales and at very fine bid/offer spreads. | ianood
12/4/2018 14:38 | Interactive Brokers until a few years back used to credit on the P/D, very reliably, these days they seems to routinely pay up to a week late. Added to which when divs are late they don't send their usual e-mail notification of div payment, so you're left guessing and/or having to repeatedly log in to your a/c to check. If you're on margin you get a double-whammy, paying margin% on an overdue credit + the opportunity cost of the absent funds. It's one thing that annoys me vs an otherwise very good offering. | jrphoenixw2
12/4/2018 13:44 | Credited early this morning by Selftrade :-) | philanderer
12/4/2018 13:37 | with walker cripps and HK shares I have to chase them after two weeks :-( | solomon
12/4/2018 12:43 | Divis hitting the account can vary quite a lot depending on broker, size of company, location, and a few other things. FWIW I'm with Hargreaves Lansdown, FTSE100 divis are always in before mid day whereas smaller companies and some IT's don't show until late afternoon. If you hold American shares it can be 2 or 3 days before they show which is one reason I don't have any now. | losos
12/4/2018 11:41 | I'm with AJ Bell. My dividends have arrived ..... ;0) | tradermichael
12/4/2018 09:52 | Yep GSK prompt with the dividend. It's hit my account too. Still waiting for other dividends to hit. | stewart64
12/4/2018 09:34 | Never mind. It's now showing up on my broker in the income section. | aganatra20
12/4/2018 09:23 | Who is your broker? Mine still hasn't come in yet? | aganatra20
12/4/2018 09:20 | Nice to see a juicy divi in the account this morning, onwards to 1540p this quarter | ny boy
12/4/2018 08:15 | No way could they afford the Pfizer bid as well. But could GSK come back later and make a silly offer.Pfizer still no bidders. Could pick up a bargain. | montyhedge
12/4/2018 07:40 | TodayGlaxoSmithKline | mj19
10/4/2018 21:54 | Thanks Fang - a good start and must be good news for patients. | alphorn |
