No, I actually sold last week. Not sure cash is particularly good given inflationary pressures either. Also sold some Barc which have since gone up and didn't sell standard life which have fallen. One in three right, which about average for me. GSK still top 3 holding for me, hardly given up here.

It makes no difference whether you sell now or wait for the dividend other than missing trade between now and then and whether you are potentially taxed to income or capital gain. Never understood people who wait for dividends especially when you are within tax free wrappers like SIPPs or ISAs. Next week's dividend is this week's capital.

GSK is scheduled to report third-quarter 2016 results on Oct 26. Last quarter, the company delivered a positive earnings surprise of 27.27%.

A very defeative approach. Without research we do not move forwards; cancer, the central nervous system and cognitive disorders are a few areas where I have no doubt that progress will be made.

I choose them because they are where the money is at

If you do some research you will find that many celebrities have undergone surgery to remove various parts of their body in order to avoid the onset of a cancer type.


They have done this because they have tested positive for an inherited genetic mutated gene which recent molecular diagnostic testing has proved to be linked to certain cancer types and subsets.


Thus since we all know at present no cure for any cancer using drugs exists

Then this also proves that the continued development of drugs which target tumors is a waste of time re finding a cure.

However some new drugs do extend life by several months eg circa from 12 months to perhaps eighteen months

The quality of this extended life does not get mentioned much


My point is that the rich celebrities spend money on cancer preventative operations because they have the money and specialist guidance to do so.

A cure for cancer will not be found by trying to attack a developed tumor

The cure will be to attack and remove the mutated genes that cause it

My net cost per share was 14.17 (last year) and I would be very please to see the price consolidating to allow a stop at 1700
