18/2/2015 14:35 | Woodentop, does it really matter? What's so important about a day or so? | woodhawk
18/2/2015 14:23 | Down to if you believe the full 23p will be lost on the share price first thing in the morning. In a perfect world it should be, but as we know it ofter isn't. New buyers may not realise it has gone xd and think share price is cheap compared to today and buy as a result. | mr woodentop
18/2/2015 14:15 | Makes no sense woodentop | toffeeman
18/2/2015 13:53 | at 23p per share it's a fair gamble that you can sell tomorrow at a price you can make a profit | mr woodentop
18/2/2015 13:36 | Some dividend buying before the xd tomorrow morning ? | philanderer
17/2/2015 17:05 | Toffeeman - "market makers have jack sh1t to do with the GSK share price." Yes, you're right, but they do move the aim and small cap spreads around to suit themselves, had been watching their antics on XPP and a few others. | losos
17/2/2015 11:42 | Yes I agree | rsharman
17/2/2015 11:26 | hopefully more a retest of 1550! | mr woodentop
17/2/2015 09:54 | Don't think so. | philo124

14/2/2015 09:24 | I've seen it before when a share climbing like this goes ex div, and the price doesn't drop (not even for that day), but keeps on climbing ..... ;0) | tradermichael
13/2/2015 17:35 | Another good week + 37p :-) | philanderer
13/2/2015 16:46 | probably not!! | cyberian
13/2/2015 16:39 | Will there will be another buying opportunity when it goes ex div. | gnik

13/2/2015 16:24 | Very bullish seems to be closing at the high.... | woodhawk
13/2/2015 14:36 | Indeed market makers will facilitate business but supply and demand ultimately dictates the share price. Most mms lose money on their trading books but hopefully generate commission from hedge funds and the like to make up for it. | allch2
13/2/2015 14:23 | I don't think that is quite true Toffeeman. Although GSK is on SETS many trades are dealt through market makers before they even reach SETS. For example, many/most retail brokers don't place a client's trade on SETS. They deal through a market making service specific to the retail brokers. Obviously whatever activity happens concurrent to SETS is going to have an affect on the SETS behaviour. | minerve
13/2/2015 14:13 | With all due respect Losos, market makers have jack sh1t to do with the GSK share price. | toffeeman
13/2/2015 13:49 | anhar - "I have a number of radical views which I've expressed over time here" And there's usually someone who will wade in and try to show you the way but over the years I have come to see share price movements in a similar way to yourself. In the background there are always statistics and profit forecasts and all the other data, but even a computer cannot logically make a pattern from them. And I am convinced the MM's have their own agenda, they never speak about it outside of their close knit little group, but moving prices (and the associated spreads) is what they excell at, pity the poor PI who tries to comprehend those guys ha ha. | losos
13/2/2015 13:46 | Stock analysts at Berenberg Bank lowered their target price on shares of GlaxoSmithKline plc (LON:GSK) from 1620p to 1560p in a report issued on Friday. The firm currently has a “hold” rating on the stock. | philanderer |
