Well if you sell or float off or otherwise dispose of a business then you lose the profit from that business and often cos rebase the divi then to reflect that. I thought vod would try to keep the divi since they have so much cash coming and being splurged on a buyback. It's another 6 months away yet, a cut of less than 50% will now loo k good. Doubling your holdings may be sensible, if it settles back a bit, I'd buy more, having held for donkeys years and seen it halve in price, but pay out high divis. The worst performing big share in my portfolio. May claw some back this year.

Not so regarding the divi because in yesterday's full year report, VOD announced a nasty 50% cut ("rebase" in directorspeak) for 2025, to 4.5€¢ from 9.0 in 2024. At the current FX rate that's about 3.9p, so on a share price of 77p makes a forecast yield of 5.1%.

Like GSK, it now enjoys the dubious distinction of membership in the divi slasher club

Yes i don't usually do this but thinking of selling half my gsk today with a view to buying back roughly a quid cheaper. I have also bought a few more vod on the breakout

If you sell you've got to find somewhere else for the money. Not many bargains about atm. Not selling gsk, but I just bought more vod with a massive buyback coming, and should maintain or increase the very high divi since it's full o cash.

Don't bite my head off but i am considering selling half my gsk shares today before xd after such a lovely run since the new year. I feel this is overextended and due a retrace

Things have definitely gone well lately but their original central plank, oncology, went very poorly and it took a couple of outstanding vaccines to dig them out of the hole. Was it just bad luck or a case of backing the wrong horses?

Anhar - it was for those with a memory from a year ago, when the price was falling and everyone wanted the lipstick expert out. Just thought I'd redress the balance. I'm ambivalent on her - stay or go, not sure it makes a great deal of difference, plenty could take her place and do just as well or poorly as her.

Nice progress. Another 9 or 10% and I'm at my target. Could take a month, 6 months plus or never get there. Be happy with the middle option. I suppose more clarity on Zantac in June/ July will help (assuming it's good news).

#Zho, my numbers are a little skewed as I re-bought my missing 20% soon after the consolidation and nearly 2 years later the cost/value measure is looking a little better, but it is great to see the progress made in rebuilding the share price post the 4:5 and HLN for free (or the 20% loss)..

Strong recovery here, the share price pre consolidation was GBP17.81 on 18.07.2022, so we have now had the HLN shares for free, plus the dividends from both.. :o)

These sell side analysts are going to be upgrading again soon. Moderna also posted a beat in the US
